Review: The Lies We Tell - Becca Steele

The Lies We Tell The Lies We Tell by Becca Steele
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

The Lies We Tell is the first book in ‘The Four’ Series by Becca Steel and it certainly was an intriguing read! The story focuses on Winter Huntington a college student who has switched college in order to spend time with her mother who left her when she was a little girl. Her father died in an explosion which she is suspicious of and is trying to find answers which all lead to her mother. Added into the mix are her new step-brothers: Caiden and Weston Cavendish. Straight away we find out that Caiden doesn’t like Winter and we spend some of the story finding out why, with the rest of the Four trying to make her life unbearable at school and at home.

There is certainly a lot of instant attraction between Caiden and Winter, but also with the rest of the Four who are all uniquely different in their own way, especially with Cassius. There are a lot of twists and turns in this book and the ending was phenomenal (what a cliff-hanger).

There are lots of steamy scenes in this book and a lot of will they/won’t they moments which leave you hanging and wanting more. It will be interesting to see where the rest of this series goes and whether there will be books about individual characters, not just Caiden and Willow.

The book also has a number of story-lines t follow which were really interesting, although Winter’s mother is just not a nice person and you are certainly hoping that she gets her comeuppance in the next book! Just saying!

Overall, a really great enemies to lovers’ book with just enough intrigue, suspense and steamy scenes to keep you turning the page to see what happens next.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
