Dirty Girls by Lily White
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars
Dirty Girls is an unputdownable book from author Lily White. It has so many twists and turns in it, that it is hard to keep up! The book focuses on Olive Reid, a young woman living with her brother in Winter Ridge, a place where the elite live. Sadly, Olive isn’t one of the elites and is trying to keep the roof over her head with the help of her brother after the death of her parents. But life for Olive isn’t easy in Winter Ridge and it seems that everyone has to go through a rite of passage to survive, coming up against her brother and his band of brothers… but especially that of Soren, the worst one of all!
This story was unreal. Not only do we have Olive’s relationship with Soren, but also the rest of the men who are living at her house. We also have the drama of girls turning up dead in horrific ways and an FBI agent who seems to be following her around not only to find the killer but also lusting after Olive. There are some really graphic scenes in this book and you’re trying to figure out if characters are good or bad throughout the whole thing, wondering how Olive is going to survive the plans that Soren has for her whilst trying to balance her life. There are some really strong scenes between Olive and her brother which are quite heart-breaking and brutal as well as scenes of pledging which border on cruel and unusual. The death of the girls really does bring the story-line together and the plot twist was unreal (no spoilers). This book is told from multiple points of view which also let you get into the characters minds a little bit more and for most of the book you’re rallying Olive to just keep going and for her to stay strong.
There is certainly a lot of game-playing in this book and you can’t quite figure out what’s going to happen. Scenes between Soren and Olive are steamy and overall, this book is a page-turner, full of suspense, intrigue, amazing characters and a twisted story-line. I will certainly be reading more form this author!
