EXCERPT

Wolf looked to his watch. “I have to go.”

“Okay.” I nodded.

His gaze dipped down my body. “Are you sure you want me to go?”

My gut twisted. I looked down and saw I was half hard. “It’s called mornin’ wood.” And that was all it was. It had nothing to do with the guy in the room who looked at me like I was dessert.

Christ. It really didn’t.

“You weren’t before.”

“I was, you just didn’t notice, and why the fuck am I explainin’ anythin’ to you?” Turning my back on him, I adjusted myself and begged my dick to quit trying to get attention from just anyone.

Wolf chuckled low behind me. “I think he likes my attention.”

“You’re wrong. I’m goin’ for a shower.” I started for the bathroom.

“See you tonight, Ruin,” he practically purred.

I flicked a hand over my shoulder. “Whatever.”

More laughter followed before my bedroom door closed. I looked down at my dick. “What the fuck, man?” Of course I didn’t get an answer, but I swear to Christ, my dick had a mind of its own.

Review: Disgraced - Eva Winners

Disgraced Disgraced by Eva Winners
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Disgraced is the third instalment of the Russian Sinners by Eva Winners. This time the story focuses on Sergei and Scarlett. Scarlett is on vacation in Russia with her girlfriends when she bumps into Sergei and they start an impassioned holiday romance. But everything is not what it seems, as Scarlett has been betrothed to Sergei for many years through a deal with her Irish mafia father. But before Sergei can tell her the truth, both of their lives blow up and a series of event happens which puts both of them in the face of danger, but especially Scarlett.

This was a fast-paced book with a lot going on and even though it is a standalone, it would probably help to read the previous two books so that you know who all of the players are. I really liked reading about Sergei and although I many not have agreed with why he kept secrets, but I kind of understood. He has a vulnerability to him as well as a craziness that makes you want to know more about him and when he tells Scarlett about his past, just beautiful. Scarlett is very much suited to him! She is a strong woman, and she needs to be, being literally shoved into a life that she was hoping to escape. She is brave, determined and really does love Sergei and that can be seen with each chapter you read.

It has lots of action, family moments, passion between all characters and overall is a good mafia read!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

Review: Ache - Marley Valentine

Ache Ache by Marley Valentine
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Ache by Marley Valentine was such a bittersweet, friends to lover page turning read! The story is about Gael and Jordan. Jordan was brought into Gael’s family when he was seventeen and his parents threw him out for being gay. Having been best friends for years it seemed to be the right thing to do, only throughout their time together Jordan’s feelings for Gael have grown…the only problem is, is that Gael isn’t gay, and he is going to be married soon. The story follows along as the two men navigate their relationship until a bachelor party in Las Vegas changes everything and not necessarily in a good way.

I loved the flow of this book and the backstory we got about Gael and Jordan’s relationship and well as Gael’s relationship with his fiancée. There was a lot happening in this book emotionally and we got to see both men being vulnerable and making decisions based on what they thought was best for the other one.

Gael’s family throughout the whole book were so great! They had so much wisdom, laughter and pure joy that it really added to the story of what can happen when you have a supportive family, even if they aren’t your blood.

Jordan and Gael’s chemistry is off the charts, and it definitely keeps you turning the pages. There are moments of pure tragedy, which is followed by pure joy in this book, and you are rooting for both characters the whole way!

A beautiful, friends to lovers read!

Review: The Untamed Moon - Jenn Stark

The Untamed Moon The Untamed Moon by Jenn Stark
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

The Untamed Moon by Jenn Start is the seventh instalment in the Wilde Justice series and boy does it take us on a wild ride as Sara and her brilliant band of people take us on a journey to find the Moon, another Arcana Council member. The Moon is one of the Arcana Councils most powerful members but has been missing for a long while. The journey to find them takes Sara to South America where a call for help opens a can of worms, allowing new players to come onto the game and will also shake Sara and the rest of her family to its core.

This series is a pure, fast paced ride for Sara and her council members, of course Nikki, Nigel and a host of other characters are also in the think of it as Sara puts her life on the line again and gets some serious questions answered whilst more seem to pop up. There is definitely a power struggle going on within the council, and it isn’t until the last few chapters that we find out how bad.

Of course, there are moments with the Magician (which you need to read to find out), hilariously funny dialogue from Nikki and some smouldering looks from the Devil himself. I particularly liked the wisdom that Death bestowed on Sara whilst in my head saying OMG numerous times as things unfolded.

There are some bug surprises in this book that will leave you gasping for breath and it certainly had me on tender hooks when reading about certain characters and their fates. This series just seems to be getting better and better and I’m going to be a little sad when it all comes to an end.

Another fast-paced, rollercoaster ride of a book. You’re going to want to read it!

Ry Archer and Bowe Keller are as different as night and day. But that doesn't stop the childhood frenemies from reconnecting whenever one of them needs some help tackling any of life's major puzzles, like figuring out why getting what you always thought you wanted isn't living up to all the hype. They might constantly rub each other the wrong way (except for the times when they rub each other the really-really right way), but there is no denying they've always made one hell of a great team. They manage to balance each other out… when they aren't driving each other crazy.

For Ry, he thought he had the perfect girl, the one who was going to run headfirst into a methodically planned future. He was going to marry young and have the same kind of legendary, life-long romance his parents did… or so he believed. His girl was going to stand by his side as he chased his dream of being a professional football player all the way to the NFL.

He was wrong.

Now, Ry's gotta figure out the difference between a bruised heart and a broken one, and the only person who can teach him the difference is Bowe.

Bowe always felt like she had to run before she learned to walk to keep up with her father's musical legacy. He's her hero, and she wants nothing more than to make him proud. Bowe's about to figure out that maybe she wasn't meant to be in a rock and roll band and that it is possible she let her father's success cloud her idea of what making music should be. Bowe needs to find her own path to fame, and there's a good chance she wouldn't be brave enough or bold enough to start over if Ry Archer hadn't charmed his way back into her life when she least expected it.

Some days they're enemies. Other days they're lovers. For a while, they were strangers. But now, it feels more like they might have always been soulmates.

Eventually, Ry and Bowe realize that letting go of an old dream and creating a new one is much easier to do with the right person by your side.

Review: Hate Me - Harmony Grey

Hate Me Hate Me by Harmony Grey
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Hate Me is the quick read novella by Harmony Grey and boy does it pack a punch. Emily’s life has been uprooted since her mum remarried and has given her a new stepbrother…Carter, who is the bane of her existence. Arrogant and King of Woodville High, Emily has to be careful where she steps, or she’ll have to face his wrath. But what happens when she tells a little white lie?

This is a fast-paced novella that puts you right into the relationship of Emily and Carter and has the will they/won’t they vibes going throughout the whole thing. Emily is feisty and doesn’t put up with any nonsense from Cater, whilst we also see-through Carter’s eyes and how and why he feels the things he does for Emily. The book ends with a cliff-hanger, and it will be interesting to see what happens with the characters after the way it ended.

Review: Dark Queen - Ker Dukey

Dark Queen Dark Queen by Ker Dukey
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Dark Queen is a sinfully dark and sexy read from Ker Dukey. The story looks at the developing relationship between Alyssa and Luca. Alyssa is seeking a new opportunity away from her hometown and the life she wants to leave behind. Getting a place in a prominent ballet school seems to be the only way, but it isn’t as easy as she thinks until opportunity comes knocking on her door and a chance encounter with Luca Leto turns into opportunity and obsession.

This was a quick read for me as the story just grabbed your attention from the get-go. Alyssa and Luca are as dark as each other and both border on being a little bit crazy, which seems to suit them just fine. Alyssa was a tough nut to crack as she just tells people what she thinks without thinking about the consequences and is quite selfish in her world view. This is certainly complimented by alpha-hole Luca who just has a commanding and almost violent presence. He quickly becomes obsessed with Alyssa as they navigate their relationship whilst people are trying to kill them or intervene in their relationship.

There is suspense and twist and turns on every page, with some extremely scorching sexy scenes between the characters that literally set the pages on fire! This book definitely holds you captive and isn’t for the faint of heart.

Review: Ruin - Lila Rose

Ruin Ruin by Lila Rose
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Ruin is the sweet and sexy new book by Lila Rose. It is book two in the Hawks MC: Next Generation series and boy is it a hot one. The book tells the story of Ruin and Wolf. Ruin is part of the MC and son to Stokes (you would have met his as a youngster in a different series). Ruin is outspoken, cocky and a little confused about his attraction to Wolf. Wolf aka Taro is the new head of the Japanese Mafia. Whilst looking after his sister and coming to terms with his dying father, he comes across Ruin who is everything he could want in a man.

This was a beautiful story to read with two people finding love at a complicated time and both questioning their feelings. Both men were strong, alpha and stubborn, but definitely complimented each other. I enjoyed them trying to figure out the boundaries of their relationship as well as the snark and sass of other characters (both new and old). Wolf and Ruin just work well together, even though they come from very different worlds.

Lila Rose is certainly turning into a one-click author for me, and I can’t wait to get the next instalment in this series!
