Review: Scars - Dana Isaly

Scars Scars by Dana Isaly
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Scars by Dana Isaly is a read hot, page turner of a read! The story leads straight into the action as we meet Scarlet who is on the run from her family, who a few years ago tried to kill her. Enter ‘The Triad’, Sebastian, Elliot and Tristan, three unique, not necessarily good men who have Scarlet on their radar. The story blends together how the men are going to use Scarlet for their own games, if only she would let them.

Scarlet is an intriguing character from the get-go. She knows who she is, and she is going to fight to the death (literally) before her family find her again, she just needs to make sure that Seb, Elliot and Tristan know how powerful she is and how she won’t go without a fight.

The interplay between all three of these characters was great. Scarlet isn’t a wallflower, and she takes what she wants, sexually, violently and without apologies. I loved the interaction and snarkiness she has with each man as she gets under their skins and gets them to show their vulnerability to her. This book is full of rage, violence and a little  bit of insanity. It makes you want to turn the pages so that you can find out what’s going to happen and makes you build great connections with the characters, so that even though you know some of the stuff that they’re doing is wrong, you’re still rooting for them.

Overall, a really interesting read by a new author for me. Incidentally, it does leave you with a cliff-hanger and that made me a little bit upset as I just wanted to continue reading!
