Review: Remington - Silvia Violet

Remington Remington by Silvia Violet
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Remington is book one in The Theriot Family series by Silvia Violet and it is a little hottie. The story looks at the budding romance of Remington Theriot and Henri. Remington is in a jam one night and needs the assistance of Henri, who is working on the street to make ends meet. For Remington, it is instant attraction and he wants to repay Henri for his assistance by keeping him for a short amount of time, offering him protection and money he needs to start fresh. Remi is part of an old family in New Orleans and all of their deals aren’t always above board, this is where the action comes in as both Remi and Henri skate their attraction and Remi tries to keep Henri from the seedier side of his life…only complicating things further by doing so.

This M/M mafia romance was a quick read for me, and it had all of the feels. Remi’s position in the family is that of older brother, protector of his family and the one who is going to step up when his father steps down. His life is a precarious balancing act and Henri (in the best way possible), seems to upset that and makes Remi think about the future.

Henri’s story is heart-breaking, we see his vulnerability as well as him wanting his own ‘happily ever after’. I enjoyed the interplay between himself and Remi and from the get-go, they were just a sweet and sexy couple to read about. I also enjoyed the scenes where the characters were walking around New Orleans as it brought some great memories back for me and just made the story that little bit more enchanting.

Overall, this was a sweet read with a HEA and some steamy scenes.
