Review: Longtime Crush - Carrie Ann Ryan

Longtime Crush Longtime Crush by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Longtime Crush by Carrie Ann Ryan is book 3 in the Montgomery Ink Legacy series and looks at the characters Sebastian and Raven. We know that Sebastian has had a difficult few year with the love of his life dying. He is trying to be a good dad to his daughter Nora, whilst working full time and trying to keep his in laws from doing anything drastic. But when his best friend from the past shows up, questions are raised on why she left to begin with and what is Sebastian going to do with the feelings that he has for her?

Raven has been in love with Sebastian forever but knew that he didn’t feel the same way about her, so she stepped aside for her other best friend Marley. When Marley died, life for Sebastian and Raven took on a different twist and raven left to see what more she wanted out of her life. But home is calling her and her feelings for Sebastian are just as strong today as they were them.

I enjoyed that the story had elements of the past into it and that Sebastian and Raven knew each other before they took a step from friends into lovers. There were moments of sadness throughout the story when Raven questioned herself and Sebastian didn’t step up, but overall, there was low angst but lots of emotions. Throw in a wonderful little girl and a great set of characters and you have a very sweet story about finding love after devastation.

Overall, this is a really good addition to this series and I can’t wait to see whose up next.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗥𝗕

Leave humanity at the door.

Only godless heathens survive here.

— Saint —

Chryseum Reformatory Academy aka the Asylum.

This is where the rich send their screwed-up sons and daughters, delivering them to a prison in the Catskills of New York.

The Asylum doesn’t cure. It camouflages, protecting old money from apples rotting on the family tree.

They call me a psychopath, a lunatic, unhinged.

But here, I am god.

Now, say your prayers at the door, pet, because this is my senior year, my school, my world.

Even God doesn’t step foot here.

— Willow —

I didn’t want to kill myself, not really.

I wanted help.

I wanted someone—anyone—to listen.

But I’m just a flesh-and-bone cry for attention.

Now, my father’s shipped me here, where evil and old secrets seep through the cold, stone walls.

An inky-haired guy with a devilish smile offers me protection, but his price is high.

Wear his collar.

Be his pet.

Give myself to him, body and soul.

ABOUT JORDAN GRANT

Jordan Grant is a lost soul, who changed majors three times in college before deciding on English. Because she has about as much patience as her beautiful, wonderful (did she mention ah-mazing!) younglings, she graduated a year early and then went to law school because, well...

She mentioned she’s a lost soul, right?

The lawyer-turned-romance-author has a special place in her heart devoted to edgy alpha males and bad boys with naughty mouths. She loves to get lost in the blur between love and hate and is especially fond of prince charmings with dents in their crowns and strife in their souls.

She is an avid fan of all things sweet including red wine and cupcakes (red velvet, please!). When she’s not daydreaming about the characters in her head, she enjoys (attempting to) garden, petting furry animals, and wrangling her family into day-trip adventures.

Review: Bloody Savage God - Jordan Grant

Bloody Savage God Bloody Savage God by Jordan Grant
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Bloody Savage God is book one in the Godless Heathens series by Jordan Grant. It focuses on the characters Saint and Willow. Saint has been living in Chryseum Reformatory Academy aka the Asylum for many years. He is a dark and unique psychopath and when you are in his sights, he wants to break you apart, only to put you together again. But he is bored, that is until Willow comes a long, a young woman with a tragic past who doesn’t quite understand why she is being sent to the Asylum, but knows that once she is under Saint’s spell, he is going to destroy her and help her be reborn.

This is a deliciously dark story about two broken people. There is a lot of drama between Saint and Willow as they figure out their relationship and the labels that go with that. I love the fact that Saint tries so hard to love Willow in the best way he can, and he is super intense throughout the whole book and will literally burn the world down to protect her!

I also enjoyed that Willow wasn’t a push over and she kept pushing back at Saint in the best ways possible.

This book is also full of twist and turns and some triggers that some readers might find difficult, but if you persevere, you’re going to be thrown into a world of debauchery, darkness and pure insanity that you’re not going to want to put this book down.

Overall, a great start to a new series and a new author for me. Read if you dare!

Review: Venom & Vengeance - Emma Slate

Venom & Vengeance Venom & Vengeance by Emma Slate
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

Venom & Vengeance is book 5 in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series by Emma Slate and boy is it a not one! The story focuses on Viper and Sutton. Sutton is one strong woman, thrown into the path of the cartel through no fault of her own, she is helped out by the Tarnished Angels MC, but more importantly, the grumpy and older MC member, Viper a man who sees someone as youthful as Sutton and thinks that she is too young for him…of which he is greatly mistaken. Sutton doesn’t take no prisoners and she gives as good as she gets and continuously keeps Viper on the backfoot with her shenanigans.

This was a great, steamy and sometimes funny read as we watch Viper and Sutton’s relationship unfold. At no point is it an easy relationship as there is a lot going on with both characters as well as things going on around them, which is out of their control, but which seeps into their lives! Sutton and Viper are pretty perfect for each other and compliment each other in the best way! Even though Viper is older, he is protective of Sutton but also wants her to grow and gives her some great advice! The sexy times between the characters was great and made the pages melt.

As with other books in this series, other characters pop in throughout the story which gives a great sense of brotherhood and camaraderie. There is also a serious side to the story with the cartel popping its head into the story again, and not everyone will survive what is going to happen!

Another great page turner, this series just keeps getting better and better. I wonder who’s going to get their story told next. I know I can’t wait.

Review: Thrust & Throttle - Emma Slate

Thrust & Throttle Thrust & Throttle by Emma Slate
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Thrust & Throttle is book 4 in the Tarnished Angels Motorcycle Club series by Emma Slate and it is a great addition t the series. The book focuses on the characters Duke and Willa who along with their friend, Savage makes a trusty group of friends. Only Willa and Duke’s friendship has gone into forbidden territory which makes Willa nervous. Is she going to stick it out with Duke, or is she going to let life get in the way of her being happy?

This was a wonderful read. Although sometimes, you did want to give Willa a bit of a shake when she was going to and fro with her feelings for Duke, especially as some of her excuses were a bit flimsy. She did have a lot going on though, with her mother being a flake, looking after a teenage sister and worrying about what her other best friend, Savage would think about her relationship with Duke. Luckily, Duke was quite patient with her and helped her to work through her anxiety.

Duke was a great alpha male, who had a great sense of humour and protection when it came to Willa. He wasn’t scared at all to take his relationship with her to the next level and his dirty mouth…wow! I loved that even though he had a soft side to him, he didn’t take any crap and fought for his MC brothers, especially when drama raised its head!

The story started out quite slow but picked up the pace the further into the story it went, especially with the added drama from the cartel, which really highlighted the MC side of things in the story and the lengths they will go to, to protect tier women! The story also had some great sexy times between Willa and Duke, which nearly melted the pages as well as some great family times between other members of the MC. This series is definitely turning into one of my favourite MC series and I hope you’ll give it a try too! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Review: Gamble's Risk - Karen Renee

Gamble's Risk Gamble's Risk by Karen Renee
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Gamble’s Risk is book 5 in the Riot MC Biloxi series by Karen Renee and it is a book full of emotion and passion. The book centres on Gamble and Victoria. Gamble is part of the Riot MC and being part of the Brotherhood is something that he lives for, as well as holding a grudge against his sister’s attackers. When a message is sent to him in the guise of a woman who has been horrendously attacked. Gamble is determined to help Victoria any way he can, even if that means getting revenge on those who have attacked her…all she needs to do is trust him.

This was a wonderful addition to this series which had topics that some people may find triggering but were dealt with in a sensitive manner. I liked that Victoria and Gamble’s relationship build over time, even though both of them had an attraction to each other as well as how Victoria doesn’t let what happens to her beat her.

Gamble is definitely an alpha male and at times can steamroll over Victoria, but she only lets him do that to a point, especially when it comes to making decisions about her life and who she is as a woman.

I love seeing familiar characters pop up in this series and this book was no different. There is certainly a sense of brotherhood in this book as well as a sisterhood as more of the female characters come together to support one another. As with previous books in the series, there are some serious sexy times, some action and some seriously hot aloha males.

Definitely a book to add to your TBR list.
