Reaper reenters her life without warning, determined to win her back. He’ll make her understand he had no other option. Both their lives depended on the choice he made the fateful day he lost her.

Then an enemy from Reaper’s past surfaces in Alaska. All of the secrets and lies Reaper has told come back to haunt him. When Jinx is taken, Reaper will kill to get her back. Review: Quieting the Biker's Rage - Piper Davenport

Quieting the Biker's Rage Quieting the Biker's Rage by Piper Davenport
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Quieting the Biker’s Rage is book 4 in the Dogs of Fire MC: Savannah Chapter by Piper Davenport and boy is it full of drama, just the way I like it! The story focuses on Lyric and Doom. They meet when Doom helps Lyric out of a car smash and there is instant attraction, even though Doom blows hot and cold. Although Lyric feels like she lives in her sister’s shadow being quiet and introverted, she is a strong and independent woman (albeit in a moonboot for most of the story) and feels an instant zing when it comes to Doom, if only he would open himself up to her. When they decide to be friends with benefits, it all seems fine until feelings are caught and then the emotions from both characters go all over the place leading to hurt feelings, some violence and some great twist and turns. Sadly, its going to take a lot for these two to get their happily ever after, but some things are just meant to be.

This was a great book with some really strong characters. I really liked Lyric, she knew who she was and what she wanted, she understands Doom and his loss, but won’t put up with the way he speak to her sometimes and when he blows hot and cold. She is a very forgiving person though and seems to punch back at whatever life throws at her. She is definitely a strong character for someone like Doom who like his names suggests can be dark, brooding and distant at times having suffered a significant loss, one which has affected how he views relationships for a long time. He can be cruel at times but reflective and after a lot of back and forth, he knows that Lyric is the one for him, he may just have to do a lot of fighting to keep her, especially with danger lurking around the corner.

Overall, this was a great dive into the Dogs of Fire MC life, it isn’t an easy one, but the relationship between characters and the love, respect and passion they feel for each other makes them a great team. They aren’t going to let people go it alone and this can be seen for how they help both Lyric and Doom throughout the story. If you like suspense, passion and an overall great read, then this is the one for you!

Review: Sanctuary - Terri Anne Browning

Sanctuary Sanctuary by Terri Anne Browning
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Sanctuary by Terri Anne Browning is book 12 in the Angels Halo MC Next Gen and at times it is quite a dark read! We’re introduced to Nishia in quite an emotional way when she is dumped and left bleeding and broken outside of Sanctuary, a place where women can go who have experienced violence and which is owned by Jack’s mum and Jack himself. We find out through Nishia and her trauma the life she has led with her mum and how/why something bad has happened to her. Throughout it all is her bear Jack who, although doesn’t like many other people, has an instant attraction to Nishia. Even though sometimes they have some mixed communications, the two are just perfect for each other. Jack can be Nishia’s protector and Nishia helps to quiet Jack’s demons.

There are parts of this book that are bloody and violent (due to the topic that the book is about), but there is also suspense, characters that protect what is there’s and a lot of love. Moments where little Molly pops up help to break up the seriousness of what characters are going through and the new family that Nishia make, help her to overcome her trauma and build something new. Jack’s darkness is interesting and the lengths that he will go to not only to protect Nishia but others too. As I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, I didn’t know where all of the characters fit, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book and the suspense and twist and turns it has in it.

It was definitely a slow burn romance, but once Nishia and Jack ignite, they blow up! If you like your MC characters flawed, a little grumpy but with a heard of gold, then you’re going to enjoy this book!

Review: Little Lost Dolls - M.M. Chouinard

Little Lost Dolls Little Lost Dolls by M.M. Chouinard
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

Little Lost Dolls by M.M. Chouinard was a fast paced, crime story from the Detective Jo Fournier series. This is book 7 and it follows the story of Jo and her partner finding a missing pregnant woman in the woods. This is no ordinary case as the bodies start to pile up and more questions are left unanswered than answered. The twist and turns in this book were so great and it kept you guessing on who had done the crime.

I particularly like all of the characters that we were introduced to within the story, even those that we may not feel sympathy for as a reader. Jo as the main character is a strong character to read about as she has her vulnerabilities, and also knows to go with her intuition when it comes to finding a killer. The camaraderie that she has with her team is also great and you see how they get their person in the end.

A really good series and although I have read this out of order, I’m excited to go back to the beginning and finding out how Jo ended up where she did.

Review: Minus - Jack Davenport

Minus Minus by Jack Davenport
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Minus is book one in the Burning Saints MC series by Jack Davenport. It focuses on the characters Minus and Cricket. Minus has been in exile from his club and from the woman he loves for many years, working as a rancher but is called home unexpectantly when things are starting to change at the hands of the MC President and Minus is going to be at the forefront of that change.

Cricket has also been called back to the MC by her uncle the president and thrust back into the life that she used to have with Minus. But Cricket has changed, she knows her own mind and what she wants. Yes, she may want Minus, but she doesn’t know if she is willing to go back down the same road again. Older and wiser…yes, but not stupid.

This was a great read, not only do we have some really good and strong characters, we also see Minus’s life before and after he left the MC. I liked the added story of what was happening at the Burning Saints and that everything was not as it seemed. The camaraderie between the MC was great as was their relationship with Cricket, especially as they all knew that both her and Minus belonged together.

Minus and Cricket’s relationship was complex, emotional and hot! They just worked together and even though it was a second chance romance, I like to think that both characters learnt a lot of new things about each other when they met up again.

Overall, a good new series with a great storyline and some wonderful characters.
