Review: Sanctuary - Terri Anne Browning

Sanctuary Sanctuary by Terri Anne Browning
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Sanctuary by Terri Anne Browning is book 12 in the Angels Halo MC Next Gen and at times it is quite a dark read! We’re introduced to Nishia in quite an emotional way when she is dumped and left bleeding and broken outside of Sanctuary, a place where women can go who have experienced violence and which is owned by Jack’s mum and Jack himself. We find out through Nishia and her trauma the life she has led with her mum and how/why something bad has happened to her. Throughout it all is her bear Jack who, although doesn’t like many other people, has an instant attraction to Nishia. Even though sometimes they have some mixed communications, the two are just perfect for each other. Jack can be Nishia’s protector and Nishia helps to quiet Jack’s demons.

There are parts of this book that are bloody and violent (due to the topic that the book is about), but there is also suspense, characters that protect what is there’s and a lot of love. Moments where little Molly pops up help to break up the seriousness of what characters are going through and the new family that Nishia make, help her to overcome her trauma and build something new. Jack’s darkness is interesting and the lengths that he will go to not only to protect Nishia but others too. As I haven’t read any of the other books in this series, I didn’t know where all of the characters fit, but it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book and the suspense and twist and turns it has in it.

It was definitely a slow burn romance, but once Nishia and Jack ignite, they blow up! If you like your MC characters flawed, a little grumpy but with a heard of gold, then you’re going to enjoy this book!
