Review: Blood of the Pack - Cassie Alexander

Blood of the Pack Blood of the Pack by Cassie Alexander
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Blood of the pack by Cassie Alexander is book one in the Dark Ink Tattoo series and is a fast-paced, action packed read! The story focuses on the characters Angela and Jack. Angela is the owner of Dark Ink Tattoos, a werewolf and hiding from her old pack and ex-boyfriend who is currently in prison and Jack, works for Angela, and although there is some attraction there, he hasn’t done anything about it and is a little bit of a player. When Angela starts to get threatened and her son is put in danger, things seem to get more real for the both of them.

There is a definite feel of will they/ wont they in this first book with a lot of sexual tension and a lot of sexy scenes which definitely make the book a lot spicier! This book has a smorgasbord of paranormal characters such as witches, werewolves and vampires as well as an MC thrown in there too, so if that’s your jam then this paranormal romance is the one for you.

Overall, the story has a lot of twist and turns, is told from both characters POV and is a good set up as a first book in a series.

Review: My Only Wish - Leigh Lennon

My Only Wish My Only Wish by Leigh Lennon
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

My Only Wish by Leigh Lennon is book four in the Love is Love series and looks at the characters Lane, Shaw and Keegan. Lane and Shaw are a couple that have a unique relationship, sometimes bringing a third into their relationship when the need is there. Although Shaw loves Lane, he feels that they need a more permanent third which will make them complete more fully, but he is concerned with how Lane will react. Enter Keegan, a man with a high-profile life, but who is intrigued by Lane and Shaw and what they want in a relationship, it also helps that he is instantly attracted to the two men but at times is concerned about where their relationship will lead, especially since he isn’t out in his current job.

My only wish was a heart-warming M/M/M story about finding love and it makes you stronger even if it isn’t conventional. I enjoyed the fact that we saw all characters POV and how they felt about situations and about each other. The story has a little bit of drama and angst (which was to be expected), but ultimately the story is about finding love in whatever form that looks like. There is a lot of emotion in the book, some sexy scenes and some well written characters. Overall, a really good LGBTQ+ read.

Review: When He’s Dark - Suzanne Wright

When He’s Dark When He’s Dark by Suzanne Wright
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

When He’s Dark is book one in the Olympus Pride series by Suzanne Wright. The story is a slow burn paranormal read which focuses on cat shifters Bree Dwyer and Alex Deveraux. Bree is an independent, Omega, Pallas Cat shifter who knows her place in her pride (even though people keep coming to her for help). She knows that her ‘true mate’ is crazy and not some one she wants to be with, much to the chagrin of his family who is also as crazy as he is and he has been missing for some time, but when other shifters start to be murdered and people come after Bree, his death may not be as final as she first thought.

Enter the stoic and grumpy wolverine, Alex who has always had an attraction to Bree but has done nothing about it, until now. He’s not going to stand for the way some people treat Bree, and he is definitely not going to wait for her ‘true mate’ to show up and make things difficult, especially when his own beast is imprinting on Bree and wants her for himself!

This book was an easy read with some great characters, snarky comments and some action that keeps you guessing. The banter between Alex and Bree is great and at times can be quite funny. Secondary characters like Alex’s mum really help make the book a page turner as they get right to the heart of the problem, which is both Bree and Alex being stubborn about what they feel for each other. I really enjoyed the twist and turns that this story offered when it came to Paxton and who he was (literally a psycho) and how his family reacted to his ‘death’ and how they intertwined themselves within Bree’s life.

There isn’t a huge fighting scene in this book which you normally see within other shifter romances. Instead, the drama is mainly focused on Bree and what she goes through with her mate as well as her place as a dominant Omega within the pride, which makes it different from other books and although we do get a lot about Alex and his feelings for Bree, I would say that this is definitely Bree’s story. Overall, a well written story which has made me want to read more of this series!

Review: Broken Wings - Allegra Grey & Emily Sloan

Broken Wings Broken Wings by Allegra Grey
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Broken Wings by Allegra Grey & Emily Sloan is book one in the Storm Crows MC series. The book focuses on the characters Ashlyn and Joker. Ashlyn comes across Joker one night at the site of a terrible accident in which Joker is hurt. She decides to stay with him to give him comfort which in turn allows her to step into a world which is definitely out of her comfort zone but opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

Joker is dangerous, being the VP of the Storm Crows he lives a hard life which is very different from Ashlyn’s, but there is something about his rescuer that calls to him, even if he is stubborn to begin with on his feelings for her. The dynamic with these two characters was great as they both come from different worlds but have a great connection, Ashlyn with her fragility and vulnerability but an inner strength and Joker with his harshness but unshakeable belief in Ashlyn. Together, they make a great couple!

Overall, this was a really good story into a new series, with twist and turns, some drama and some steam! A great addition to the MC genre.

Review: Devil's Destiny - Winter Sloane

Devil's Destiny Devil's Destiny by Winter Sloane
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Devil’s Destiny is a really quick read with characters that have some instant chemistry. It is book one in the Fallen Saints series by Winter Sloane and focuses on the characters Destiny and Devil. Destiny is a stripper who is working off a debt to save her mother. Unbeknownst to her, Devil the Vice President of the Fallen Saints MC is given Destiny as a form of payment and straight away he is obsessed with the beautiful and slightly innocent Destiny.

This is a really fast paced story where there is some instant attraction, and the development of the relationship is really quick with a lot of drama thrown into the mix and some sexy scenes to jazz it up. If you like older men/younger women troupes with some MC drama thrown into the mix then this is one for you.

Review: Taking Her Innocence - Sam Crescent & Stacey Espino

Taking Her Innocence Taking Her Innocence by Sam Crescent
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Taking her Innocence is book one in the Killer of Kings series by Sam Crescent and Stacey Espino. The story focuses on Pepper and Viper. Pepper is in danger from her stepfather who wants her dead and who has killed her mother. On the run, she is thrust into a world hat she needs to survive and into the crosshairs of Viper, the man and assassin who is sent to kill her. Expecting to be his next victim, she is taken by surprise when the killer becomes her saviour and does everything in his power to keep her alive.

This story was a quick and easy read with some good characters, although at times I did find Pepper a little frustrating with how she saw herself and her innocence. Viper was a strong, dominant character who is happy to take Pepper’s virginity and make her his, teaching her about herself along the way whilst he tries to keep them both alive. If you’re looking for a book to escape reality for a couple of hours with some action, sexy scenes and a dominant male, then this is going to be a one for you to pick up and read!

Review: Jackals Wild - Abby Kaitz

Jackals Wild Jackals Wild by Abby Kaitz
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Jackals Wild is a cute and steamy M/M romance by Abby Kaitz. The book tells the story of Adam and Carter, two college roommates who couldn’t be more different from one another. Adam and Carter start working together on Carter’s side project and the development of their friendship and subsequent relationship becomes more.

As with most college romances, there are a lot of feelings going on in this book, from coming of age, figuring out your sexuality, issues with family, to name but a few and this story was no different as we see the growth of both Adam and Carter throughout the story. This was a good start to a new series with a slow burn relationship, some well written characters and a good storyline.
