BLURB

I’ve always hated winter. This year when it comes, I’ll belong to them.

When you sign your soul over to the devil, there are no take backs.

I knew the terms of the contract when I signed it.

For one year, my life isn’t mine.

For one year I am to obey, to be seen not heard.

For one year I’m theirs, mind, body, and soul.

The bodyguard. The fixer. The maniac. The boss.

Four men on a path to ruin me.

I may be theirs for a year, but the damage they plan on doing to me will last a lifetime. That’s if I even survive, because between the family and their enemies, the odds of me even making it past the end of winter are low.

This is the first book in a dark reverse harem contemporary romance series that will contain explicit language and graphic scenes. This series will contain triggering material such as dub con and non con. It is not for the faint of heart.

He leans over until his face is right in front of mine. His warm breath moves over my face. His voice is low and coiled with tension. "Did that make you feel better?"

I can only stare at him, my jaw tight, because no that didn't make me feel better, not even close. There’s still this right tension inside of me demanding to be satisfied.

My eyes drift down to Vito’s lips, to the way they're pulled down and oh so close to my face. And again, I act without thinking, pressing my lips to his.

Neither of us move for a second, our lips touching but nothing more until I move a fraction closer. Vito's hand wraps in my hair and he pulls, pressing my lips harder against his and I let out a startled gasp. He takes the moment to dip his tongue between my lips, drinking in the moan that leaves my mouth.

I reach out, gripping his neck roughly. I dig my fingernails into his skin as heat moves through my body. His lips move away from mine as he jerks my head back, his mouth dancing over the skin of my neck. Goosebumps break across my flesh.

My legs spread as he steps closer before he's lowering me back, my back slamming against the mattress. His hard body comes over mine and I wrap my legs against his waist, my head falling back to give him more access to my neck.

I know that it's wrong, that I shouldn't be allowing this to happen, to participate.

But with the hollow feeling in my soul, all I want is to feel.

And the way that Vito touches me, kisses me, it crushes the simple word and morphs into something stronger.

Review: Brutal Winter - Quirah Casey

Brutal Winter Brutal Winter by Quirah Casey
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Holy-Moley, this book ticked all of my boxes for a dark, RH read by the wonderful author Quirah Casey. From start to finish, this book is all actions, sexiness and twisted cruelness and I literally devoured it!

The story focuses on Winter, a young woman who is down on her luck and is paying a debt to keep her brother alive. For one year she has traded her life to The Boss and his men; The Bodyguard, The Fixer and The Maniac….and mind totally blown!

This book takes you on a rollercoaster ride of epicness as Winter tries to stay alive whilst being at the beck and call of some dangerously hot (and one slightly deranged) men. Her life wasn’t easy before and it certainly isn’t easy now when she is tasked with a job that puts her in danger, not only from the enemy, but also from the men themselves! She is one strong and vulnerable woman with a backbone of steel. Reading about Winter and her story is intense and yes there may be some triggers for some readers, but you are totally warned before you even enter the first page of this book!

Now let’s get to the men! Wow, they are all so unique from each other and in this book, we only get glimpses of who they are and what role they play in the Family. (There is one who is definitely cray cray and needs a smack up in the head), but they are cruel, sexy and dangerous and I can’t wait to get more of them in the next book!

If you’re looking for something new, exciting and off the charts to binge read, you’re going to want to pick up this book right now! Note: there is a cliff-hanger!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

Review: Boss: Time Served MC Book 1 - Cee Bowerman

Boss: Time Served MC Book 1 Boss: Time Served MC Book 1 by Cee Bowerman
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Boss is book one in the new series: Tenillo Guardians TSMC by Cee Bowerman and boy is it a great story. We’re introduced to Boss a man who has done his time and is trying to get on with his life being the President of the Time Served MC and the newly appointed Sherriff of the small town of Tenillo, but not everything is what it seems in town and it is certainly not smelling of roses. Enter Jennifer, a woman who is escaping her past and looking towards her future with her menagerie of animals and new business, she isn’t looking for a man, until Boss sets his sights on her and then everything is thrown out of the window.

This was a great MC read (which was different from other MC books) with older characters, a great storyline, some action and some sassy and strong women. I loved the relationship that Jenn not only had with Boss, but also with his men. She treated them all as equals and could banter with them like the best of them. Her relationship with her best friend Paula was hilarious and laugh aloud at times.

The relationships are deep in this book. We see the life that Boss and his other MC men have made from themselves after spending time behind bars (we only get snippets of backstories, so I’m hoping that every character gets a book!) as well as what it feels like to start a new relationship when you’ve already been in one previously for a number of years. I loved that there were sweet times in this book as well as times of action, where characters were put into precarious situations and had the help and backing of others to get them out.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for more. It has definitely made me go and look at Ms. Bowerman’s backlist to see what else I need to read!

Review: What We Deserve - Lizzie Stanley

What We Deserve What We Deserve by Lizzie Stanley
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

What We Deserve is a contemporary romance by new author Lizzie Stanley. The story focuses on Emily and Eli and is beautifully written by a new author to me and one that I recommend. Emily is starting out in a new place after leaving a toxic relationship behind which has left her a little battered and emotionally bruised. Sweet and shy, she takes a risk applying for a new job at Wishbones tattoo parlour where she meets Eli and the rest of his crazy family. Eli has been hurt in the past and is finding it hard to put his heart on the line, that is until Emily walks into his business, and he is instantly smitten with the shy, sweet and vulnerable young woman.

As you read the book, you’re amerced into this wonderful family who all have scars, secrets and hilarity of their own. Both Emily and Eli evolve throughout the story. Emily becoming braver and starting to see the person she was before life got difficult and Eli as he puts his trust in someone new. I loved the banter that Emily had with everyone and the understanding and sweetness she shows the other characters when they are going through their own difficulties. Her relationship with the rugged Eli is sweet and sexy to read about and I loved that she was a quintessential geek and got the other in with her geekery!

There is a little bit of angst and drama in the book which just adds to the story and these amazing characters. I would definitely recommend this book and this refreshing new author. I can’t wait to see whose next in the series!

To understand me, you have to understand my pain.

You have to understand where it all started...

I see her differently now.

My friend, Michelle Douglas.

It’s the summer of 1994 where the love of the 80’s still holds on for dear life.

She’s wearing a black ACDC shirt that hangs over the shoulder and she is hanging out with a group of friends.

I don’t know what it is about her right now, but in this moment, everything has changed for me.

Everything about her calls out to me.

I think it always has. It always will.

Her love isn’t easy to get, but I’m determined to get it.

There’s one problem.

She’s promised to another.

An abusive man that doesn’t know he has the entire world right in front of him.

We fall in love realizing we have always been in love.

She’s going to leave him.

I have the rest of my life planned out. My future is Michelle.

I just need to survive the war.

I need to come back to her.

But when I do…

Nothing is the same.

And everything has changed.

Life.

Love.

Shows no mercy.

“Okay.” Brandon slaps his hands together and rubs them villainously. “Let’s go get our palms read.”

“In there?” I point to the double-gallery house behind him. There isn’t a sign. There’s a blue neon light in the shape of a palm in the window, and in the middle it says, ‘Palm Readings.’ Nothing else. No business name or anything. If anything, the building gives me the creeps. It’s two blocks over from Bourbon Street, so it isn’t as busy. It’s dark; the only light illuminating the sidewalk is from the blue glow of the sign.

“Look, this place has got to be legit, right? I saw a flyer at the bar,” Brandon protests.

Michelle is grabbing my hand tight and hiding behind me, peeking out from around me. “It looks creepy,” she whispers, just as the wind blows, causing the wind chimes hanging above the doorway to tinkle mysteriously.

I narrow my eyes at the musical instruments creating gorgeous high-pitched tunes, but the closer I look at them and the more my eyes adjust to the night, I begin to notice something off about them. I take a step forward, the porch groaning as I step onto it.

“What are you doing?” Michelle hisses to keep her voice low so no one inside hears us.

Doubtful, since no one seems to be here.

“How have we lived in New Orleans all this time and not done this? I’m excited.” Brandon goes to knock, but I grab his wrist before he can.

“Because locals fucking know better. Either you dive into the real shit or you don’t. Tourists don’t care,” I explain.

I keep my arm stretched out to keep Michelle behind me. Something feels off. I look around noticing no one else around. The upbeat jazz music has faded in the distance, but the cheers of drunk people can still be heard.

The clonks of hooves tap against the road, which has me turning my head to see a horse and carriage. The loud wail of the chimes rings again, bringing my attention back to the odd shapes. Are those… my eyes widen when I finally see what I think they are.

“Oh my god, are those bones?” I reach up to touch them to see if maybe they feel real, but Michelle stops me.

“Don’t you dare. If they are bones, you could catch something…”

“They aren’t real. Come on.” Brandon runs his finger over what looks like a ribcage. “It’s supposed to be spooky. Gives it the ‘real feel.’”

“Your friend is right, mon cher.” An old woman’s Cajun accent has us all jumping and taking a step back.

When the hell did she open the door?

“‘Dem bones are from a cat. Don’t worry. It was already dead. Did not want to let it go to waste.” She rings the chimes by pulling the spine that sways in the middle and runs it across the ribs to create more music.

Honestly, now all I hear are sad meows.

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

Review: Rhapsodic - Laura Thalassa

Rhapsodic Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa was an interesting read. The story focuses on Callypso a siren who when in a bind when she is younger calls on the help of The Bargainer, a mysterious man who fixes things, but they come at a price, one that although Callypso is willing to pay she doesn’t quite understand what it means. We follow her relationship with the Bargainer as she collects beads on her bracelet waiting for him to collect on them and we see her grow from a young girl into a young woman. It is only when she is older that the mysterious man comes back and he is ready to collect, we just don’t know the reasons why and what hat will mean for Callypso.

This book was unique and different as we see into the past and the present and Callypso helps the Bargainer and Fae King with a problem that he is having in his kingdom. The book jumps backwards, and forwards and we see the relationship build between the two. The book does leave you with a lot of questions (this is a series) and the story at times is creepy (when trying to figure out what is happening in the kingdom) and sexual (the building relationship between Callie and Des) and I don’t want to give too much away as there is a lot of twist and turns, but boy is this book a page-turner!

If you’ve read any of this authors books before, you know that you are going to be pulled into a wild, mysterious ride and this book was no different. Although a little slow in parts, we really get to know both characters and the world in which they live and are trying to survive. A great read about two soul mates who just needed some time to figure things out whilst trying to figure out answers to questions which are going to be haunting.

Review: Cash - Lola Wright

Cash Cash by Lola Wright
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Cash is book 5 in the Devil’s Angels series by Lola Wright. We’ve met Cash in previous books, he is the strong, silent type who is just a genuine nice guy. He is the problem solver of the Devil’s Angels and the person that everyone seems to turn too when they need help. Enter Livi, a police officer who has instant chemistry for Cash and they try to build a relationship, albeit slowly. But things certainly go awry for Cash when something life altering happens to him and he tries to hold all the pieces together without giving something up.

This was a wonderful book to read. Not only do we have great characters like Cash and Livi, but also the secondary characters such as James (Livi’s best friend), the two Aunts and Cash’s dad, to name but a few, who just added context, laughs and great moments to this book. Cash and Livi’s relationship wasn’t easy and I liked that things weren’t glossed over as they tried to figure out what they meant to each other, although it did feel like Cash needed to sort himself out a lot more than Livi.

Characters from previous books are back and sassy, strong and hilarious as ever. This MC is all about family and we continue to see it in every book as we learn more about the trials and tribulations that each character takes!

If you like hot MC romances with some heartbreak, humour and sexiness, then Loa Wright is the author for you!

Review: Wild - Kenzie Macallan

Wild Wild by Kenzie Macallan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Wild by Kenzie Macallan is book one in the Deep 8 series. The book focuses on Sean Knight, a former SEAL who is asked to go back to Afghanistan to extract a world-renowned Hacker. On his journey, he finds his former childhood best friend and investigative reporter, Jess Wilander who seems to be in a world of complication with the kidnapping of her sister.

This romantic suspense had a lot of twist and turns. We follow Sean and Jess’s story as they figure out that they are looking for the same person, up against people who seem to hold all of the cards and a lot of secrets. There is a strong attraction between the two characters and a lot of a action which keeps you wanting to turn the pages in this suspenseful read! Definitely a new series that you’re going to want to read!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊

Review: Huck - Jessica Gadziala

Huck Huck by Jessica Gadziala
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Huck is book one in the Golden Glades Henchmen MC series by Jessica Gadziala. This book throws you straight into the characters lives from the beginning. Harmon has moved next door to the MC, she works at home due to a lot of complex reasons and just wants to be left alone to do her job and live her life. But not everything goes to plan when she is thrown into the life of the MC and Huck, the president of the MC who is gruff, sexy and instantly attracted the quirky Harmon.

I really enjoyed reading about how complex Harmon’s life was and how she is seen by her family (which was quite heart-breaking) and how Huck and the rest of the MC help her to come out of her shell and live her life, regardless of how at times that could be dangerous. Huck is just one of those delicious, domineering characters, who although he doesn’t want to fall for Harmon, just gets her and her complications.

I enjoyed both the humour and the intrigue in this page turner, and I’m interested to see what happens with the rest of the MC and hopefully seeing more of Huck and Harmon as their relationship keeps growing. If you like your MC’s full of action, great characters with some intense chemistry, then this is the one for you!

Review: Saint - Ruby Vincent

Saint Saint by Ruby Vincent
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Saint is the stunning first book in the Saints & Sinners series by Ruby Vincent. The story follows Adeline, a young chef who gets caught up in some trouble and sees something she shouldn’t… The Merchant’s delivering justice. She does what every sensible person would…she runs, only to find herself in the crosshairs of the Merchants and finding out that they will do everything they can to keep her, even bring them into their world.

This book is a fast-paced, slow burn, mentally twisting read with some great characters Not only do we have Adeline who is a feisty, strong female lead (with secrets of her own), we are also introduced to Saint, Brutal, Mercer and Cash. Although this book has the other guys in, we definitely see more of Saint and his eccentricities. The man is straight up crazy, which also calls to Adeline’s dark little heart! The dual POV’s also let us get into the minds of these characters more and they are certainly a little messed up. Saint is one of those blue haired, crazy characters that you want to keep reading more about, as you want to know what makes him tick and at this moment in time, it is definitely Adeline. He sees the darkness in her and is just coaxing it to come into a full burn.

This book is definitely complex, dangerous, sexy and a page turner. You are kept guessing about what is going to happen and who is going to  be in the middle of it. It has some great and refreshing characters as well as an epic cliff-hanger (I didn’t see that coming!) and can definitely class itself as a dark read. At the end of the book , you’re left wondering who you’re going to trust and whether you need to buckle up and hold on as the ride is just going to get bumpier!

Review: Code Name: Hacker - Sawyer Bennett

Code Name: Hacker Code Name: Hacker by Sawyer Bennett
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Code Name: Hacker is book 4 in the Jameson Force Security Series by Sawyer Bennett and boy is it a page turner! The story focuses on Bebe Grimshaw, a woman who has paid for her crimes and is trying to put her life back together so that she can spend time with her son and mum, but the past is trying to catch up with her. Enter Griff, a tough looking biker who is playing a game of deception with Bebe stuck right in the middle.

This was a really good read with a lot of twist and turns and a really strong female lead. Bebe has been through a lot, but she isn’t going to stop living her life, even though she may question it a dew times Her relationship with Griff is steamy, even when things come to light and she has a great family in the Jameson team…especially that of her partner who always has her back. Griff is also a great character in the book. He knows his mind and although he has some difficult decisions to make, he does make the right one! He is sweet when he needs to be and tough when things are getting twisted up and is a great addition to Bebe and her family.

I really enjoyed the story that went with this book and how everyone fit together like a jigsaw. I hadn’t read any of the other books in this series, but it may have helped when it came to understanding who characters were, and this book definitely pushed me to start from the beginning.

This was a really great romantic suspense and I can’t wait to read more!
