Royal is book 5 in the Connor Brothers Construction series by Cee Bowerman. Royal was a hilarious and oftentimes sad story of Royal and Paula. Royal is the twin to Ronan and has sworn off women for a little while after a spate of disasters. That is until he meets Paula and her hilarious daughter. From there he is smitten, but he needs to convince Paula that she too wants something more.

This was a great story, although it doesn’t have a lot of drama, it does tell the story of how life can blindside you when you least expect it. I loved the twist with Paula’s daughter and what it would mean for the rest of the Connor brothers. Paula’s family were also hilarious, always getting into shenanigans, speaking their mind and being busy bodies, there was nothing that those women wouldn’t do.

Royal just snuck under Paula’s tightly controlled skin and wouldn’t let her go. Both of them together was hilarious and there were some laugh out loud moments when you’re reading the book. Of course, the rest of the family are there sharing their advice as normal and making the chaotic look calm.

I’ve really enjoyed this series, it deals with some hard topics, big emotions but shows the strength of family. If you like sweet reads, then this is one for you!
