Review: Arson's Captive - V.F. Mason

Arson's Captive Arson's Captive by V.F. Mason
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Arson’s captive is a very dark read from V. P. Mason. The story sees a young woman trying to escape her ‘cult’ like existence only to be captured by Arson, a bonafide serial killer. From there we see the relationship between Arson’s ‘Angel’ and himself and there is nothing that he won’t do to break her down and get down to the very essence of who she is.

This story bounces backwards and forwards between the two characters past and present, highlighting how they have come to be who they are and what they have suffered at the hands of others. At times, the book is very graphic and goes into immense detail of torture and abuse which can be very uncomfortable. There is certainly a depraved element to how Arson feels about his Angel and some very sexy scenes in which he highlights his points of her being his captive.

This book flows really quickly and you get to meet a range of characters who are just as cruel and depraved as Arson is. It also highlights the nature/nurture theory on how good people become bad and how bad people can find redemption. For me this was an okay read, mainly due to the fact that I wasn’t overly keep on the subject matter.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
