Review: Hurting You - J. L. Beck & C. Hallman

Hurting You Hurting You by J.L. Beck
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Hurting You is the third book in the Blackthorn Elite series by J. L. Beck and C. Hallman. It is a quick paced story with dark elements and looks at the characters Cameron, Easton and Stella. As though Stella’s life wasn’t hard enough, giving up college to earn money and look after her sick grandma, nothing seems to be going her way. Striving to get on with life until one night she sees something that she shouldn’t and is thrown into the path of Cameron and Easton.

Made to do their bidding, Stella seems to be pulled into a cat and mouse game with Cam and Easton who don’t mind sharing and want to make Stella theirs…if only she would follow their rules.
This was certainly a dark, bully read. Cameron and Easton are like the yin/yang of two people. Cam is charismatic, with an easy smile, whilst Easton is dark and edgy. Both give as good as they get when it comes to Stella and both seem to have this undeniable need for control. Stella is also a strong character and although she puts up with a lot from the boys, she also tries to make the most of her situation and the best of her circumstances.

There are a lot of dark, sexy scenes in this book which may be hard to read for some readers. The control that Easton has over Stella can be hard to read at times but you do some to understand where he is coming from. The characters are incredibly written and we also see characters form previous books which was an added surprise. The twists and turns in this book, especially towards the end make you want to keep turning the page and the story between Stella and her grandma is quite heart-breaking and very realistic.

A really well written, heart pounding, darkly sexy story!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
