Review: Scorch - Nikki Rae

Scorch Scorch by Nikki Rae
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Scorch by Nikki Rae is the fourth book in the Order Series. We begin where we left off with Fawn’s life being balanced between success and betrayal. This was another amazingly dark book written by Nikki Rae where the characters of Fawn, Marius and Elliot are inextricably entwined. Fawn is an intriguing character in that she has an internal strength where she won’t give up, tries to do the right thing and still comes out on the other end with her own questions left unanswered. To say she has had a hard time is an understatement. Yet, the development of her relationship with Marius is a one of beauty and I really enjoyed the beauty/pain of their relationship in which they have been through so much both together and independently.

On the other hand, Elliot and Fawn’s relationship is really complicated and complex, it is like pulling a string in a knot and coming away with a different piece. In some ways I am always left feeling as though Elliot doesn’t truly understand Fawn and what she is willing to do to save her family. It sometimes feels like he is looking at her under a microscope but isn’t always confident in what he finds, especially when he tries to relate it back to his own captivity.

As always, this is a dark, emotional, sit on the edge of your seat book and it is certainly not for the faint hearted. Oh, it also ends with another cliff-hanger!

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
