Review: Lone Survivor - Anya Summers

Lone Survivor Lone Survivor by Anya Summers
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Lone Survivor by Anya Summers is a beautiful written, tragic novel about loss and love. The book focuses on ICU Nurse Sadie Montgomery, a woman with a tragic past who has moved to New Orleans after losing both her husband and parents in tragic circumstances. Here she crosses paths with Ramsey Ram O’ Malley, a former Army Ranger who now works as a psychologist and is a Dom from Club Underworld. Both of them meet and passion is ignited and when Sadie makes a surprise visit to Club Underworld, Ram knows that he may never let her go.

This is a really sweet, amazingly written book which focuses on loss, guilt, PTSD, survival and love. Sadie and ram’s relationship isn’t easy, mainly due to past and present baggage, misunderstandings and misconceptions that they have about each other. It’s nice to see the development of their relationship throughout the book and it comes across as really honest and at times really brutal in what both characters are feeling or have felt due to others and their own emotional baggage. The story has a lot of side stories which are really interesting and it really shows an almost ‘real life balance’ that these two characters have throughout the book. PTSD scenes are handled with care and compassion and it really makes you think about those who do suffer from this debilitation illness.

The sexy scenes are amazing between the two characters. There’s a lot of dirty talk, passion, spanking etc. Everything that you want from a BDSM scene and it leaves you wanting more. Scenes between Sadie and other members of Club underground are really interesting and I would definitely like to see them in more books…hint, hint.

This was a really enjoyable, emotional roller-coaster ride of a novel and a must read for those who like a sexy read with some real life action too.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
