Review: Rock Star - S. C. Daiko

Rock Star Rock Star by S.C. Daiko
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Rock Star is a sweet story about Phoenix Johnson, a young woman trying to make ends meet to help her family and a dream of making it big as a singer – songwriter. She has the chance of a lifetime when she auditions to be a backup singer for rock band ChiMera. Yet tragedy has struck the band, leaving lead singer Axel Wainwright and the rest of the band in limbo. Coming back from rehab, aiming to have a European tour and living the life of a Rock Star is hard on this band and this can be seen through their interactions with each other.

The relationship between Phoenix and Axel is really sweet and sexy as they both have their individual goals but also an instant attraction which is hard to keep a secret. You really see the struggles that both characters have to overcome issues that are going on/have been going on in their lives and it feels very real when you’re reading it. Interaction between the other band members at times is really funny and sweet and paints a picture of what it is like to be on the road all of the time, doing what you love with miles of temptations put into your way.

This is the first time I have read a book by this author and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Fast-paced, descriptive, sweet and steamy. A must read for all those who love a good Rock Star novel with a strong heroine.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
