Review: Lethal by Cassandra Robbins

Lethal Lethal by Cassandra Robbins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Cassandra Robbins is a new author for me and her novel was certainly different from a few other MC novels that I’ve read. Lethal is the first book in this MC romance about The Disciples which focuses on the MC’s leader Blade ‘Jason’ McCormick. Blade isn’t a nice guy and this is something he repeatedly says throughout the book. He is ruthless, sometimes cruel and has to make hard decisions, like the decision of taking Eve as collateral when her brother and father can’t pay a dept that they owe the Disciples.

Eve as a character is really young, and sometimes she comes across as really immature and manipulative. But on the flip side you can understand why she is like this with the hand she has been dealt; dead mother, a father who is sick and a drug addicted brother.

Blade/Jason is an ex-Navy Seal who is older than Eve and doesn’t believe in monogamy (something which he tells Eve throughout the book). Although a sexy, alpha male, there are times in the book when he can be quite cruel to Eve due to her lack of education and thinking that she has lied to him about certain things about herself.

Together the characters blend quite well together and the author definitely shows a harsher side of an MC, rather than a ‘rose tinted glasses’ view that you sometimes see from other authors. This is a really promising MC series and it will be interesting to see the development of other characters and how the MC life will play a role in that.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
