Review: Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

Eternal Rider Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG this book is HOT! This new series is about the 4 horsemen (well 3 horsemen and 1 horsewoman) of the apocalypse and centres on Ares the horseman formally known as War. This novel starts at the end of a previous series where we see the beginning of the apocalypse in a world where demons and angels exist alongside humans.

Ares is an intriguing character who brings wit, strength and a dark charm to the novel as well as more than a little bit of arrogance yet on the other side; he is vulnerable and has an extreme amount of baggage (which is understandable for a 5000 year old immortal). Ares is forced into protecting and keeping alive Cara (a human), who on the surface is not what she seems. Living with a past trauma, at times she comes across as really weak and then she seems to put on her big girl pants and deal with the hand that she was dealt, even if that means her death.

Ares and Cara’s romance is a bit tempestuous in that you know they are going to get together, you know it’s going to be hot but you also know that there is going to be some major dramas in the guise of saving the world from an apocalypse, being betrayed by a family member, facing past trauma and having a Hellhound as a protector to name but a few.

I feel that you don’t need to have read previous books to enjoy this one, but it would probably help you to better understand the secondary characters past stories such as Kenan, Respeh and Thanatos, as well as give you an idea of how the book is set out, both with the underworld and earth.

Sexy scenes are so steamy you may need to go and cool down after reading them but at the same time you will crave for more.

This is a definite must read book for me and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series brings.
