Review: Kings of Mayhem - Penny Dee

Kings of Mayhem Kings of Mayhem by Penny Dee
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Kings of mayhem is the first book in the Kings of Mayhem MC series by Penny Dee and this story starts with a bang. We see through the eyes of both Cade and Indy, best friends who grew into something more for life to get in the way and Cade betraying Indy in the worst possible way. Indy ends up running away only to come back to her hometown and the local MC with the death of her father, but coming back isn’t as easy as she thinks after ostracizing herself from her family for so long. Some people aren’t as forgiving as she thinks they should be and she also has to deal with the feelings she has for Cade, who is now all grown up.

This was an enjoyable read, mainly due to the fact that I like MC romances and this one was no different although it did seem to have a deeper feel regarding what goes on in an MC and what people’s role are. I really liked Cade as a character and I think he was quite fair with Indy, especially with the way that she treats him through the majority of the book, even when you find out what really happened that night and Indy still harbors bad feelings towards him and the MC life in general.

Indy to be honest annoyed me as a character for most of the book, I found her to be really judgmental, non-supportive and quite narcissistic. She didn’t treat people very nicely and basically needed to have a sit down with people, air her grievances and grow up a little bit. But, saying that Cade and Indy really work well together as a couple and you are hoping that they can work through all of their issues before you get to the end of the book.

I liked the backstory regarding both of the characters and they have certainly been through some challenging times. This story does end on a cliff-hanger and it will be interesting to see what happens not only with Cade and Indy but also other characters in this book.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
