Review: Breaking Spade - Harley Stone

Breaking Spade Breaking Spade by Harley Stone
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

I love Harley Stone books and Breaking Spade was no exception. They are thoroughly easy reads and before you know it, you’ve finished and have to wait for the next book in the series!

Breaking Spade is the sixth book in the Dead President MC series and I think this one may be my favourite as Antonio ‘Spade” Fernandez is the sweetest MC guy I have read about in a while and he makes you swoon. After Jessica Munroe is held at gunpoint her life changes overnight. No longer happy with the status quo that life has got her in, she takes a risk on Spade and the rest we say is history or is it?

This is not a smooth sailing book. Spade has a lot of responsibility, not only to his MC but only also to his family who seems to always want something for him without thinking about the repercussions that puts on Spade. I like how the author doesn’t shy away from the stressed, PTSD and other mental health issues that people face in their daily life and in this book, it is spoken and dealt with in a sensitive and non-shameful manner.

The relationship between Spade and Jess is hot! It’s all consuming! It’s fast, but who cares. There is genuine feelings and warmth in their relationship from the beginning and you actually see Jessica grow more confident and sassier the longer she stays with Spade. There is also a lot of give and take in the relationship which I enjoyed reading about. There isn’t too much of previous characters in this book but when they do pop up, it is like saying hello to a friend. The relationship that Spade has with his uncle is also bittersweet in that we only see a small amount of it in the story but it does leave you with a lump in your throat reading about it.

If you enjoy MC romances which are easy to read, fun, enjoyable and steamy, then Harley Stone is the author for you! I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
