Review: Hating You - J.L. Beck

Hating You Hating You by J.L. Beck
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Wow, what did I just read! This book was a brilliant bully romance /romantic suspense as you just don’t know what is going to happen. At times it is super twisted, passionate and sad with so many emotions thrown in between.

Willow is not your average girl. She only meant to help her sister but somehow has condemned herself to playing a role to not only keep herself safe but her sister too. She is forced into a new school where she comes across Parker Rothschild and from the beginning, he does nothing but try and make her life a misery as does some of the other students around her (the things people do!) Willow has no understanding of what she has done wrong until about 2/3 of the way through when everything comes out into the open and man is it explosive!

Throughout this book, Parker definitely is Willow’s nightmare, but because we see both POV’s throughout the book you kind of come to terms with why he is being the way that he is and you do feel some empathy for him. When everything comes to light though…. OMG, you will be left with your jaw hitting the floor!

I really enjoyed how both Willow and Parker try and keep to their plans and you see how strong and vulnerable they are as characters. My heart broke for Willow as she was put in a position that she just couldn’t get out of and it is heart-breaking to watch and understand what is going on in the background.

If you like dark, bully romances, then this is the one for you. The scenes between the characters are steamy, often punishing but keep you wanting to turn the page to find out what is going to happen. For some people there may be some triggers, so be warned in advance, but you are missing out if you don’t give this book a try!

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
