Review: Confess - Isabella Starling

Confess Confess by Isabella Starling
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Confess by Isabella Starling is a dark read, so be warned before you go in and give it a try. It tells the story of Father Amadeo Dacosta, a priest who has gone dark inside and is looking from retribution from none other than Carlotta Tomassi, a Mafia Princess who has been kept hidden and away from the world, entered into an arranged marriage by her father. But not all is what it seems as Carlotta sneaks out of the house to live a little, not expecting to get kidnapped and not understanding why.

Amadeo is a really dark character with some vulnerability, you as a reader do understand what he is doing but it does seem a bit extreme to take it out on someone who is quite possible naive and doesn’t understand what is going on. Carlotta on the other hand is quite a weak type of character, she has some fight in her but seems to give up most of the time by the overpowering presence of Amadeo.

There are a lot of twist and turns in this book as well as some quite dark, graphic scenes (so be warned). The twist at the end was interesting and you certainly didn’t see it coming.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
