OMG, this series just keeps getting better and better. In the 12th installments of the Guild Hunter series we see Elena and her Archangel Raphael trying to survive the Cascade and the Archangel Lijuin or Death as she is now known.
There is a lot going on in this book and it is action packed. We see what has happened to Elena since she went into the chrysalis and what that means for both herself as an angel but also for Raphael who seems to have loaded up on power. There is a lot going on in this book and we see characters from previous books such as Illium, The Hummingbird, The Legion and Aodhan make appearances for longer periods of time. To be honest I can’t wait to see if we get more from Illium and Aodhan as they’re my favourite. This book is basically a war book and only the strong are going to survive. There are some genuinely sad scenes in this book and it does leave you guessing on whether Elena and Raphael will survive not just the war but also the powers that they now have. Sadly, I can’t tell you too much more as it will all be spoilers, so you’re just going to have to trust me about reading this book!
This is a grip you by the butt of your pants read and fans of the series are going to love what has been written in this book. There is also enough romance and tension cutting jokes to make it a bit lighter. A must read for Guild Hunters everywhere!
