Review: Twisted Fate - Jessi Elliott

Twisted Fate Twisted Fate by Jessi Elliott
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Twisted Fate is book 1 in the Twisted Series by author Jessi Elliot. The book focuses on the relationship of Aurora Marshall and Tristan Westbrook. Aurora is a college student, working hard to get her degree and become a bookshop owner. Sadly, she is thrown into the world of the Fae with a case of mistaken identity and into the path of Tristan, the leader of the Fae. Aurora has to make a deal with Tristan in order to escape but in doing so starts Aurora on a path that is going to change her life forever.

There are a lot of twist and turns in this book regarding the two factions of Fae, both Light and Dark and how their history came about. Stuck in the middle of this is Rory who is trying to learn about who she is whilst dealing with college, family issues and Tristan…the one person that she has an immediate and steamy spark with. As a reader, we really get to see into the Fae world and how it works whilst following Rory literally down the rabbit hole.

There are moments of pure sadness in this book relating to Rory and her family as well as deep relationship building between Tristan and Rory. Secondary characters also help to move the book along, but you are left with a lot of questions at the end…hence how it is a series.

This is certainly a romance book more than a paranormal book, but fans of either will certainly enjoy it. A good read.
