Review: Leave Me Breathless - Cherrie Lynn

Leave Me Breathless Leave Me Breathless by Cherrie Lynn
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Leave Me Breathless is book 3 in the Ross Siblings series by Cherrie Lynn. The book focuses on the main characters of Seth ‘Ghost’ Warren and Macy Rodgers, two people who are completely different yet have an undeniable attraction. The story delves into the precious night of passion that the characters had with one another and how one night on Valentine’s Day becomes something more.

The story is filled with angst, tender moments and some very steamy scenes as these characters try and figure out their relationship with each other as well as trying to leave parts of their painful pasts behind. I really enjoyed reading about both of these characters. Macy comes across as really uptight but in all reality is just playing it safe after her accident. The same can be said for Ghost who seems to be juggling so much and doesn’t know what to focus on first.

The book is all about growth and we see that as we continue to read about the two main characters. I liked how Macy was honest about her preconceived notions regarding Ghost and Brian and that it was her own insecurities which made her really aloof. The fact that she comes to realise that she can still be herself in a work of Death Metal was reassuring for me as a character and that she stuck to what she wanted rather than being molded into something she wasn’t was also a positive.

Ghost’s character was also really well written. He is one of those strong characters that knows their own mind, even though sometimes he could overshadow his own happiness due to making others happy and not dealing with his past. I especially loved the banter that he had between himself and Brian and how their friendship just worked and came across as real.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book, even the moments which made me feel really sad or frustrated with the characters as they did tend to make their relationship a little bit more complicated than it needed to be. The fact that Ghost also had a psych ex-girlfriend also added to the drama levels in this book. This is definitely one romance that you’re going to want to read!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review; all opinions are my own.
