Review: Altered by Fire - C.M. Stunich & Tate James

Altered by Fire Altered by Fire by Kate Morgan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Altered by Fire by C.M. Stunich and Tate James is book one in the Undercover Sinners series. This is a quick read which places you right in the centre of the action from page one. We meet the main character Natalia on the run from her Russian Mob Boss father after witnessing him killing her lover and taking refuge in a church where she meets none other than five hot ‘priests’. But not everything is what it seems, and Natalia is pulled into their foray of a cat and mouse game which as you read, you see she thoroughly enjoys.

The book has a lot of sexy scenes with Natalia and the five men: Hawke, Colt, Arsen, Weston and Mace as she tries to learn a little bit more about each man and what they all want. The story focuses a lot on Natalia not being this ‘good’ girl, but a party girl who has had enough of her cruel father but doesn’t want to go up against him and is quite happy to have her fun before he kills her. She also seems to have a hang up with these guys being priests and wanting to be a nun which was different.

I would have loved this story to be longer just so that I as a reader could get to know the characters a little bit more as we just get glimpses of them and what their end goal is rather quickly. I also would like to know if Natalia would grow on me as a character as there never was a point when I was reading this book where I actually liked her.

Overall, this is a quick reverse harem book with some intriguing characters and a cliff-hanger at the end.
