Review: Owned by Him - Raven Amor

Owned by Him Owned by Him by Raven Amor
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Owned by Him is a raw and dark, mafia romance read. The story focuses on Lillianna who is sold to pay for her father debt to no other than her brothers’ best friend, Malachi Kingston. But Malachi isn’t the young prince that she remembered and she isn’t the starry eyes princess any more. What Lillianna and Malachi share is something dark, twisted and passionate and in the end, Lillianna doesn’t know if she will survive Malachi or everyone else who is out for her blood.

Lillianna is the heroine of her own story. She is such a strong character and seems to put up with a heck of a lot from the men in her life, whilst grieving her best friend and brother. She has the ability to see past Malachi’s darkness, even though for most of the book her treats her so cruelly and lets his henchmen do the same.

Malachi is such a dark character and is a product of his upbringing. He can’t show his true feelings for Lillianna in case it gets used against him. Sometimes he is brutal to her whilst also having a tenderness and a drive to find her when she goes missing. He wants her t meet his darkness but to do so he to destroy a little bit of her lightness.

This book has so many twists and turns, it is emotionally driven and you feel your heart being ripped out, especially with what happens to Lillianna and the person she becomes. There is such a depth of feeling between the two characters that they literally light the pages on fire when they are together. Through the heartbreak, secrets, lies and passion, you know that these two characters are not merely part timers when it comes to their relationship. I loved that the story was duel POV’s with Malachi’s developing more as the story went along. The king has certainly met his queen!
This is certainly a dark read and may have some triggers for some readers.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
