Review: Royal Vampire Sector - Melody Rose

Royal Vampire Sector Royal Vampire Sector by Melody Rose
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Royal Vampire Sector by Melody Smith is a standalone in the Zombie Year 2099 universe which has a collection of books in it. The story looks at Vanessa, a girl who lives with her mother and sisters on the outskirts of the Eastern Sector of the Vampire Sector. This sector is different from others in that the humans are starving and just barely surviving. Vanessa is tasked with stealing a priceless artifact from the vampire king, Matai when she is caught by his gargoyle guards and kept in the castle. This is no ordinary capture as Matai is attracted to Vanessa and wants to get to the bottom of who she is and the glow that come off of her.

This story started off quite well and it is very descriptive so you get a great sense of what it is like to live in a zombie ravaged world. There are a lot of story elements at play here, not only between Vanessa and Matai but also the secondary characters of the king’s cabinet, what is happening to the zombies and basically how everyone is going to survive.

There is a slow burn between the two main characters which only really gets steamy in the latter parts of the books, but throughout the whole story there are twist and turns, some really good fight scenes and camaraderie between a lot of the characters. It does feel different from other paranormal novels as it doesn’t feel like it is set in the future as other books in this series have been but it is still an enjoyable read.

If you like slow burn, paranormal romances, then this is the one for you!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review 😊
