Review: Beauty: The End - Mary Catherine Gebhard

Beauty: The End Beauty: The End by Mary Catherine Gebhard
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Beauty is the second book of the Hate Story duet. The book picks up from where the first one left off with Beauty having come across some big revelations about herself. Although she may have left the Beast, she still craves him like an addiction and it seems that roles have definitely changed in this book.

This book is set as a mafia dark read and it is certainly that, there is a slow burn behind the scenes as you see what happens in a mafia family and how roles are set and taken over when the time is right. There are definitely a lot of dark twists and turns during Beauty and Beast’s relationship and some can be quite cringe worthy. These are definitely two souls who are twisted together around a black heart of complexity and the characters are just as complex. You think you know who they are and what they are about, but you don’t.

Overall, this story ticks all of the boxes for a dark romance: twists and turns, dark taboo sexy scenes, violence, pure and absolute darkness and two very complex characters whose souls are quite similar. If that sounds like your thing, then this book is for you.

ARC received for a fair and honest review.
