The Mc’s
Baby by A.F. Montoya is a good MC read with some really good characters. The
story focuses on Butch and Skylar. Butch becomes an instant father overnight
and feels out of his element. He meets Skylar and her children when his life is
blowing up and she decides to help him as she sees his goodness. But Butch is
unsure if he wants to be a father due to his own upbringing and there is a bit
of contention between the two characters on his making the ‘right’ decision. Skylar
is a sweet woman who is trying to bring up too sweet and sassy children whilst
balancing an ex who does nothing to help and a father who wants her to move
closer to her. Enter her meeting Butch who she has an instant attraction too
but knows that her feelings may be short lived due to them both having
complications in their loves.
This was definitely
a sweet read where we are introduced to two characters whose lives are
complicated, throw in some children and other people and it makes it even more
so. I loved the fact that Butch became a great father to not only his own
child, but also Skylar’s and even though he was in a rough MC, they had a sense
of family and togetherness which just brought the story together. Butch was
also deep, and I could see where he was coming from when it came to the
decision he was trying to make.
Skylar
was also a good character who at times could be quite emotional about what was
going on. Her meddling in Butch’s life nearly cost her the relationship with
him, but if certainly came from a good place, especially when you see her point
of view with her idiot ex!
This was a really nice and well written story about family and what people will to to protect the ones they love. I enjoyed the relationships between the MC and Skylar’s children as well as the action that came in the latter part of the story. Of course, there are some really good sexy times and some angst thrown in to keep you turning the pages. I’m definitely intrigued to see which character will get a story next!
