Coming
Home for Us by Carrie Ann Ryan is book 4 in the Wilder Brothers series, this
one looking at the characters Elijah and Maddie. Elijah has lost someone that
he has loved before which has left him devastated, but there is just something
about Maddie that pulls at his heart strings. When Maddie decides that it is
time to leave the Wilder clan, will Elijah step up and go for what he wants?
Only time is going to tell.
Both
Elijah and Maddie are sweet together, but boy do they both have a lot of
baggage that they are carrying. The book definitely touches on grief, moving on
and friendship and I liked that we saw both characters point of view and you
can definitely see where each character is coming from. I also loved the Wilder
clan as a whole and how they are there for each other whilst also pulling people
into line who are just being idiots.
Maddie is
a really sweet character who knows her mind, and know that she won’t settle for
second best, no matter how much she is in love with Elijah. As for Elijah, he
has been through so much and has so much trauma which he needed to work through
and sometimes that effected how he and Maddie were as a couple, but overall he
is a genuinely good guy who is vulnerable to opening up to new love.
Overall,
a wonderfully sweet book, with some high angst, some definite emotions and lots
of sexy time. Throw into that some meddling family and you have a great read!
ARC received for a
fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own.
