Review: For the Love of Whiskey - Melissa Foster

For the Love of Whiskey For the Love of Whiskey by Melissa Foster
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

For the Love of Whiskey is the second books in The Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Redemption Ranch and boy is it a tearjerker. In the book we meet Sullivan, a young woman who has escaped a cult and ends up being rescued and coming to Redemption Ranch where she meets one of the Whiskey brothers, Cowboy. Cowboy knows that he wants to protect her and feels some instant connection to her, but how do you help a girl who has never experienced life and been through some of the worst thing’s life can offer?

This book is definitely about Sully’s escape and survival, finding her family and finding love, all of which are scary at times, but she certainly grows a backbone with the help of Cowboy and others at the ranch. I love that Cowboy helps her find her feet and her voice and their romance is a slow burn throughout the book. There is definitely hard decision to be made in the book by both characters, but they are going to come out on top!

I enjoyed how Cowboy knew Sully from the beginning and the mystery surrounding Sully and her family as well as finding her sister. That’s not to say that this was a super sweet romance, because it wasn’t and at times some of it was hard to read because your heart just broke for Sully and what she went through. But like all goo Melissa Foster stories, she writes some strong characters and Sully falls into this range, they just have to go through some difficulties first!

Overall, a really beautiful story which can be read as a standalone.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
