My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars
Inked Temptation by Carrie Ann Ryan is part
of the Montgomery Ink/Fort Collins series and focuses on the characters Killian
and Archer. Archer is at a loss in his life after his divorce and feeling like
he is putting on a brave face for his family. That is until he meets Killian,
his gruff and tragic neighbour who doesn’t want anything to do with him…at
least in the beginning. As the two slowly become neighbours, then friends, that
friendship develops into more. But the past of both men may hinder there
budding relationship if they both can’t let go of the past and look towards the
future.
Both Killian and Archer have sad pasts. Killian’s
more so with the loss of his family and the guilt that he carries with him
because of that. At times he can be quite abrupt with Archer, but you know it
comes from a place of hurt. He definitely has instant feelings for Archer, and
we see the guilt of that throughout the beginning of the group. Self-forgiveness
for Killian is a really important part of this book.
Archer is trying to find his place in his family again. We get some background information regarding his relationship with his father and other siblings throughout the book, but at times it just feels as though he lives in his head a lot and doesn’t let his family in too much. Both men are risking their hearts for each other and are definitely well suited. We see their relationship grow throughout the book and it really is a sweet story! Another well written book from a great series!
