Review: Tofu Cowboy - Lola West

Tofu Cowboy Tofu Cowboy by Lola West
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Tofu Cowboy is a sweet read in the Big Sky Cowboy series by Lola West. The story looks at the characters Maddie Richards and Luke Morgan. Maddie is a nude model (well it’s her first-time modelling) as a way to become more confident and body positive. At the art class she meets cowboy and secret artist Luke and instantly there is an attraction. But sometimes self-doubt, miscommunication and insecurities get in the way of true love and the journey is just a little bit more complex than it has to be.

This was a fun, quick read about finding love and how sometimes life isn’t easy. Both Luke and Maddie have issues with their identity, either because of other people or because they think they don’t fit into a particular mold. I loved that Luke was eventually so open with his family about how he felt and even though they joked with him, they understood where he was coming from.

Maddie’s story was sad, but she we see her become a strong and confident woman by the end of the story, with the help of her boss and Luke. I also loved that she was quirky and the scenes between her and Luke with at times hilarious and definitely sexy. Overall, a cute read!
