Review: Inked Kingdom - Carrie Ann Ryan

Inked Kingdom Inked Kingdom by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Inked Kingdom by Carrie Ann Ryan is part of the Underworld Kings series and is a quick read novella. The story focuses on Stone and Sarina. Stone is part of the Kingdom and under the rule of the King…until he isn’t, and he leaves the life (albeit violently) and goes to find his true love Sarina, who escaped the Kingdom many years ago and is setting up her new life. But leaving the Kingdom and the King isn’t easy and there are forces at work that are going to make sure that Stone and Sarina know that they can never escape and are always being watched.

This is a hang onto the edge of your seat romance as we try and figure out who the King and the Kingdom are and what power they hold over both Sarina and Stone. We also have the redeveloping relationship with both of the main characters. It’s not a pickup where they left off as they have a lot of history between them, but Stone wants to be a better man and feels like he can only be that when he is with Sarina.

Sarina’s own story is tragic after the death of both her father and brother at the hands of the King. Although she is continuously looking over her shoulder, she has started to build a new life for herself and becomes stronger. And although she hasn’t forgotten Stone, she does understand why he made the choices he made.

There is an intense relationship between Sarina and Stone and was a delightfully quick read with suspense, tension, redemption and steam which made it a great read. Also, characters from previous Montgomery books pop their heads in to say hello and we’re also left with some unanswered questions to what is going to be a great series.

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
