Review: Van Helsing Rising - Helen Scott & Lacey Carter Andersen

Van Helsing Rising Van Helsing Rising by Helen Scott
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Van Helsing Rising is a fast-paced, paranormal, reverse harem read by Helen Scott and Lacey Carter Andersen. The story centres around Dani, a woman of mystery who is being held in a facility where she is a test subject. She is ‘rescued’ by the Immortal Hunters MC: Dragon, Crash, Striker and Phoenix whose job it is to hunt down dangerous supernatural’s. Not knowing where Dani fits into the mix, her and some of the others from the facility are taken back to the MC as prisoners until they know what they are. Dani certainly goes from the frying pan into the fire.

The book looks at the powers that the guys already have whilst trying to figure out where Dani fits and whether she is friend or foe. At the beginning of the book she is definitely a meek character, but as she grows and goes through some trials and tribulations, we see her confidence grow as a character as well as her unexplainable powers. There are also numerous sexy scenes between Dani and some of the guys as they all try to figure out Dani’s past and present and what powers she holds.

There are lots of twist and turns in this book and be warned, it does end with an epic cliff-hanger! This book sets up the series, but it does leave us with a lot of questions (as a good series should). I’m interested to see what is going to happen to Dani and her men, especially as more truths about her life comes to the forefront as the story moves along. The world-building in this book was wonderful and it was interesting to see a take on the different type of monsters and how they come to be in this story. A good read with more to come!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
