Review: Mafia Casanova - Rachel Van Dyken & M. Robinson

Mafia Casanova Mafia Casanova by Rachel Van Dyken & M. Robinson
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Mafia Casanova is the new book by writing duo M. Robinson and Rachel Van Dyken. It is a standalone, romantic suspense. The story focuses on Romeo and Eden, two halves of the same coin, both wanting each other and both making sacrifices. Being a Made Man, family and the mafia is everything to Romeo Sinacore and even though his eyes are set on Eden De Rossi, the daughter of one of their men in their security team, life is messy and Romeo has to give up the one woman he loves, even if it is to his brother.

Eden is a strong, passionate woman, especially when it comes to Romeo. He is the light in her darkness, but everything Romeo does to Eden hurts, and there is only so much hurt you can take! When decisions are made, Eden has to choose a brother, even if it isn’t for love, but things don’t go to plan and it seems as though Eden’s world is shattered by the secrets being kept from her and lies that she has been told by everyone, including her father.

This was a fast-paced, emotionally charged read. You think you know what is going to happen and then you are side swiped by something someone does. There is so much hurt, angst, anger and passion throughout this book, it is like trying to find your way through an emotional jungle. Romeo and Eden are meant to be together, but there is just so much in their way and a lot of that comes from Romeo and the choices he makes!

Eden’s character was wonderfully written. She is strong, sassy and at times completely vulnerable when it comes to the Sinacore brothers who keep pulling her in two very different directions. There were moments where you wanted her to slap Tristian as he was just plain old mean, but you totally get why she did what she did! She certainly has a core of inner strength!

This book doesn’t have an easily won happily ever after, it is raw, ruthless and at times unforgiving, but it is definitely worth the read. The dual POV’s help you get into the characters mind and don’t let you go until the very last pages! A well written, mafia romance, but I wouldn’t expect anything but that from these two wonderful authors!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
