My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars
Abandoned in Death is book 54 in the ‘In
Death’ series by J.D. Robb, can you believe it! A woman is found on a bench in
a playground , neatly arranged and with a note “Bad Mommy’. This brings in Eve
and her team to try and figure out what the killer is trying to say and if he
will kill again! Of course, the case isn’t as cut and dry and you would think
and Eve is thrown into the chase of trying to find a killer before he kills
again!
This was another great addition to
this series. Of course, all of the usual characters are there: Roarke, Feeney
and Peabody to name but a few as they all have their roles to find the killer
whilst trying to balance their social lives. I definitely think Eve doesn’t have
as many rough edges as she did in previous books, this is certainly due to her
finding Roarke and her ‘family’ who put up with Eve just being her hard-headed
but loving self.
The story is full of suspense as we
try to figure out who the killer is and has some good twist and turns as well
as some good family moments (Peabody & Mavis) Overall, this was another
enjoyable read in a great series!
