Review: Crowbones - Anne Bishop

Crowbones Crowbones by Anne Bishop
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

Crowbones by Anne Bishop is book eight in ‘The Others’ Series and boy is it a good one. The book focuses on Vicki DeVine, a woman who has made a new life for herself and her new business “The Jumble’ a resort in a territory controlled by the Others. Whilst hosting a gathering she tells the story about Trickster Night, not knowing that it will start a series of circumstances that will cost people their lives and throw Others against humans and leave a trail of devastation in its wake. The book stories on the folklore of Crowbones, a figure that comes at a certain time and can be classed as the Others, Bogeyman. When a prank goes horribly wrong, Crows and humans end up dying, but we find out that there is more going on and Vicki and others are bang, smack in the middle of it.

I really enjoyed reading about Vicki and her story, especially as we meet her in previous books and she has come a long way in building new relationships and becoming a new woman. I enjoyed her relationship that she has with Grimshaw, Ilya and Julian. I loved the different point of views that go on as well as the tangled stories of the Others and the humans. It is definitely beneficial to read the previous books in this series so that you know who certain characters are and what their roles are within the community.

This author definitely pulls you into a world that is uniquely different from the one we live in and keeps a hold of you right until the very end. I can’t wait to read more from this author, and she is certainly a one-click author for me. If you like your paranormal books a little it different and a little bit dark, then you need to start this series!
