Ransom by
Crystal Daniels & Sandy Alvarez was a beautifully written story about
second chances. It is book one in the Grey Wolf Corp Texas series and follows
the story of Ransom and Genesis. Genesis is moving her family to Greystone,
Texas for a fresh start for herself and her two children after the death of her
husband. Starting a new life isn’t easy and with a new business and making sure
her children are okay, she has no time for me, especially one as rugged as
Ransom.
Ransom
works as a bounty hunter for Grey Wolf Corp with his two best friends, but sadly
they have put themselves in the crosshairs of the cartel they have been
fighting and things become very complicated. Balancing his life, daughter and
insta-attraction to Genesis whilst fighting the cartel is not going to be easy,
but it seems love will prevail!
This was
a beautifully written book filled with angst, love, family and some action. I
loved the relationship that Ransom and Genesis had, being available for each
other whilst balancing their life and their children. There were some sad
moments when Genesis reminisced about her husband, but I never felt like Ransom
was trying to take his place at all but rather just at to Genesis and her
children’s lives.
Ransom
was also just a good guy, yes, a little bit intense but he always had the best
of intentions. I also loved the relationship he had with his family and the
backstory we got about them. I also loved the steamy scenes that he had with
Genesis and helped her to flourish again after her husband’s death.
Overall, this was a great read with some great characters. As a new series, it left me wanting to see what was going to happen next and with who.
