Comes Blood is the first book in the Promised in Blood series by Lilith
Vincent. It is a dark, mafia romance so get ready for a heady, twisted and
sensual ride. The story focuses on main character Chiara who is placed between
a rock and a hard place on her seventeenth birthday when she is promised to one
of four men by her crooked mayor father. The story follows her introduction to
these men, men who all want something from her and are willing to take it, with
or without her permission.
Chiara
goes through a lot in this book, and we see her development from shy and
introverted young teen to a young woman who is just trying to survive. She is
put in a lot of precarious situations and with men who you never quite know if
they want to love her or kill her!
This is
definitely a slow burn, reverse harem. Chiara is seventeen at the start of the
book and the guys take it somewhat slow with her, but by the end of the book
there are some scorching hot scenes and an epic cliff-hanger.
The men
in the story are dominant, bloodthirsty and definitely crazy. It is going to be
interesting to see their development as the story goes along as there was
definitely a lot of twist and turns in this story about them as well as some
deliciously dropped hints about them too throughout the story as well as where
Chiara is going to fit into all of it, or if she is just a pawn.
If you
like your stories dark and twisted, blood driven and sexy then this is the book
for you!
