The Offer by Becca Steele is book
one in the London Player series. The book is a quick read novella which focuses
on the characters, Jake and Victoria. Jake is a rugby player with a bit of a
short temper and is getting a lot of flak for losing said temper on the field
and Victoria is a recent divorcee trying to make it on her own in a society
which can often be cruel and a mother who just won’t let up.
The two are pushed together to try
and help each other’s reputation. I loved the fact that it wasn’t an instant fix
relationship and that Victoria held her own against the often brooding and mixed
messages of Jake. There are some funny moments in the book as well as some
heartfelt, sexy scenes between the two, with some added banter in to make it a
good solid read.
This is definitely different from
other novels I have read by Ms. Steele. But if you want to wile away a few
hours with a cute and sexy read, then this is the one for you.
