Bombshell by Jessica Prince is a sweet and sexy read! The story focuses on Marin, a young woman who is doing her own thing as a burlesque dancer. Taking a cooking course, she bumps into the brother of her abusive ex. Pierce has always been cold towards Marin and she has never quite understood why, that is until they are thrown together when Marin starts babysitting Pierce’s cute son. The sparks are going to fly between the two of them, but past hurts could get in the way of this budding romance.

This was a really sweet read with some great characters. Marin is sweet and sassy and knows what she wants and that is definitely Pierce. Even though she has been burnt in the past she is still confident in going for what she wants. The chemistry between Pierce and Marin is hot. Throw into that family dramas and a sweet little boy and you have a really well written and sweet contemporary romance. Definitely a good first in the series book and it will definitely get you interested in reading more from this author!

You Can Hide by Rebecca Zanetti is another thrilling ride in the Laurel Snow series. This time we see Laurel trying to save her sociopathic sister from a killer whilst developing her relationship with the Fish and Wildlife Captain Huck Rivers. But this killer is smart and brilliant and Laurel helping her sister might just forfeit her own.

The first book in this series was really enjoyable as we were introduced to Laurel and the people in her life. The second is much the same as her relationships develop and Laurel has to deal with emotions that she hasn’t necessarily dealt with before. Her relationship with her sister is complex with lots of twist and turns as you try and figure out if she is a good or bad person.

Like the first book, this one has a lot of twist, turns and suspense and a little bit of romance thrown into the mix. If you like your main characters complex, this is the one for you!

Tempt by Melanie Harlow is a sweet read about a silver fox and a woman who he can’t stop thinking about. Millie is a quirky, young woman who isn’t looking for love. Being  a wedding planner, her days are filled with brides and grooms and very little time for anything else. That is until she meets an older gentleman one night who saves her from a creep in the bar and they have an instant attraction! It isn’t until a rehearsal dinner that she meets him again to realise that he is only the groom’s father…her ex-boyfriend’s father. Lines are going to be crossed and feelings are going to get hurt, but maybe Millie will get her happily ever after.

This was a beautiful story. Millie was a great character, who knows what she wants even when things got complicated. Zach was also a great character, he had an instant attraction to Millie, but was worried about his age as well as how his relationship with her would affect his new relationship with his son. Like most relationships there were times when things got very complicated and emotional. But the chemistry between Zach and Millie is off the charts and they definitely can’t keep their hands off each other!

If you like swoony reads with an older man and a sassy female, then this is the book for you. I haven’t read any of the other books in this series but if they are anything like this one then I’m definitely going to give them all a try! Overall, a beautiful story!

Rayvn Salvador is starting to be a one-click author for me. Malum Discordiae tells Schuyler “Sky’ Liu and Paxton “Padre’ Chase’s story. Both are sent to a new location where some dark deeds seem to be g0ing on. Contractors have said that things have gotten thrown and there is an odd feeling. When Sky and Padre arrive things seem to heat up and the evil that is surrounding them seems to want Sky and it’s willing to kill her to have her. The lead up to Sky and Padre getting together is a slow burn. The two of them have been dancing around each other for a while and both of them have a lot of baggage that they seem to be carrying with them.

This is a slow burn romance with a lot of creepiness and twist and turns thrown into the mix. If you like paranormal investigations, then you are really going to love this book. Not only do we get some history about locations in New Orleans, but you also get immersed in the supernatural element as Sky and Padre fight to not only stay alive but get answers to Sky’s past that are thrilling and captivating at the same time. I also enjoyed that Sky and Padre had conflicting beliefs and how that worked within the story.

Overall, a really great read which was great for the month of October but can definitely be read at any time. I can’t wait to see whose story comes next.

A Forest Between Us by Allie Winters is a sweet read focusing on Owen and Harper. Owen and Harper have a history. Harper doesn’t believe that she is married to Owen, after all it happened in Vegas, but when she comes to the realisation that it is in fact true, she needs to go out into the boonies to find Owen and get him to sign an annulment, only Owen wants to reconnect, but Harper doesn’t want to. What happens when two people from opposite ends of the scale come together…well we’re about to find out.

Owen is definitely the quintessential rugged mountain man with a soft heart, and he genuinely cares for Harper who is a city girl through and through, albeit a little naïve when it comes to certain things, and it definitely takes her a while to get used to the country. Both characters are destined to be together in this sweet and funny romcom and it is a start to a new series. Overall, a really good read to while away some hours.
