Review: Memento Mori - Ravyn Salvador

Memento Mori Memento Mori by Rayvn Salvador
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

Momento Mori is book one in the Haunted New Orleans Series by Ravyn Salvador and can be read as a standalone. The story focuses on  Hanlan, a woman who has gone through a huge tragedy which has left a gap in her soul. Heading back to New Orleans and her home of Arborwood, she is there to meet a paranormal investigation team and more specifically Dev, a man who has his own hurts from the past. Hanlan has an instant attraction to Dev and has to work with him, even when she is sceptical of his beliefs and what he does. Whilst Hanlan and Dev’s relationship develops, a serial killer is on the loose who seems to have Hanlan and people she knows in his sights.

This book was a really good read. There is a lot of atmosphere and almost a gothic feel to the book as you’re emersed in being in New Orleans as well as what it’s like in the day of a paranormal investigator. I loved the other characters that were introduced to Hanlan through Dev and the special connection that they both had to each other. This was definitely a fun read with some suspense and romance thrown into the mix. I also liked Dev’s background and who he was related to…if you know anything about New Orleans and her history, you’re going to love that little twist. Overall, a good, spooky read for October.
