Review: Wrapped in Ink - Carrie Ann Ryan

Wrapped in Ink Wrapped in Ink by Carrie Ann Ryan
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐ stars

Wrapped in Ink is book one in the Montgomery Ink: Boulder series by Carrie Ann Ryan. The book focuses on Liam Montgomery and Arden Brady. Arden has spent most of her life in and out of hospital battling a disease that no one can see. Having lost friends, jobs and having to rely on her family to keep herself going, she is surprised when she meets Liam, who seems to be the epitome of ‘put together’. Little does Arden know that Liam is also facing his own challenges and questioning who he is as a man.

This is a low angst story about two people meeting and having to deal with the thing’s life throws at them. The story centres heavily on what it is like to deal with a long-term illness and how that affects every aspect of your life. We also have Liam’s story as he goes through an identity crisis whilst juggling work and his relationship with Arden.

This was a nice, easy read book with some lovely characters. I also liked Arden’s brothers and it will be interesting to see if we get more from them. Arden’s dog is also hilarious and mischievous which broke up some of the more serious content of this book. A good start to a new series.
