Veiled Calls at Twilight by Kira
Stanley is a RH Mafia based story with lots of twists and turns. After Kazia’s
mother dies, she is left some instructions (dealing with her mother’s Romani
superstitions) and finds herself at her gravesite doing just that when a man
stumbles upon her and starts asking her some rather strange questions. Exit
stage left and Kazia wakes up to find herself tied to a bed and surrounded by
three men: Ceasar, Nicu and Ion, who have been sent by their father to grab
Kazia’s mum but now have her instead. Here a tale is weaved of obsessions,
superstition and violence.
This was a well written story (with
some triggers) and we not only see what Kazia has gone through but also her men
who don’t trust her to begin with, but as we see more of their background, we
understand where they are coming from. Their father is pure evil in this story
but very well written.
There is a lot of action and sexy
times in this book, and you’re pretty much thrown into the deep end from the
first chapter. Together, all four of them are a force to be reckoned with,
especially against the men’s evil father who gets his just desserts in the end!
Overall. A good RH mafia read with some dark elements.
ARC received for a
fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
