Review: The Hallows Boys - Rosie Alice

The Hallows Boys The Hallows Boys by Rosie Alice
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars

The Hallows Boys is book one in the Dark Duet by Rosie Alice, and boy is this a steamy read! The book tells the story about Sage, a young girl who has just lost her parents and is shuttled away to live with her grandmother in a place called Blackmore, a town with a lot of secrets. There she meets the Hallows Boys: Kaiden, Beckham and Vincent. Young men who rule to roost and are ready to play the ultimate game of control with Sage.

The story is full of secrets, omissions, secrets societies and lots and lots of sexy times! There are a lot of twist and turns in the story as Sage becomes more embroiled with the Hallows boys and their secrets. At times, they can be sweet (Beckham) and at times domineering and cruel (Kaiden) and there is a lot going on in the background. As it is a duet we are left with a lot of unanswered questions, not only about Sage’s background, but also where the boys fit into it. Yes, there is a lot of focus on tradition and small town secrets, but the book also focuses on Sage and her mental health, which is done really well and doesn’t give the story a happily ever after vibe but a more realistic view of what life can be like.

There is a lot of sexy scenes in this book, with a heavy focus on kinks. Read the trigger warnings before you go in as this book isn’t going to be for everyone! The characters are well written and unique to each other. I really enjoyed the relationship that Sage has with all three of the boys, who all have their own personalities and feelings about Sage and what she is doing in Blackmore. Overall, a really great, suspenseful dark romance.
