The Fool
by Lani Lynn Vale tells the story of Keene and Ande. Keene and Ande first make each other’s
acquaintance in an airport and from there it is insta-love. When Ande has
something tragic happening in her life, Keene thinks nothing of being by her
side and helping her through the process, especially when it puts her life in
danger. Keene and Ande just click as characters as well as with each other’s
families. I love that Keene is a strong man but can be vulnerable with Ande,
especially when he tells her about his life and his mission and how that may
affect his relationship with her. He doesn’t shy away from the hard things.
The same
can be said for Ande, she has an inner strength inside of her and such a
supportive family. She wants the truth and having Keene by her side makes her
fight for it. I especially enjoyed the banter that both characters had with
their families, in particular their siblings, it definitely made you feel like
you were standing in their house whilst they aggravated each other.
As with
many of Lani Lynn Vale books the characters are often funny, strong, have great
connections and feel like family. Overall, a good, quick read with some
suspense and lots of romance!
