Review: You Can Run - Rebecca Zanetti

You Can Run You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars

You Can Run by Rebecca Zanetti is a fast-paced suspense novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat! The story centres around Laurel Snow an FBI Special Agent and child prodigy who is a little quirky, finds it difficult to relate to people and is brilliant at her job! When dead bodies are found in her hometown of Genesis Valley, WA. She is called home to investigate. Back home under the care of her anxious mother she meets Huck Rivers, a Fish and Wildlife Officer who becomes part of the investigation, rather reluctantly. He also has his own story and even though he is attracted to the quirky Laurel, he is careful to set up boundaries…rather grumpily! Together they both must work against the clock and others within the community to stop the killer before his kill list gets bigger.

This was a thrilling book with some great characters! Laurel is strong but also vulnerable as she tries to relate to the people around her as well as decipher her feelings about Huck. She has a lot of questioning thoughts throughout the story which was relatable, and I loved that she had to keep wearing her mother’s clothes (a light-hearted moment within the book). The chemistry between her and Huck was great, and I enjoyed finding out more about the characters as the book went on. Huck is gruff but with his background you understand why he is the way he is. He also lives alone with his dog and seems to be a little bit ostracised from the community he is in, even though he is brilliant at his job. As the book moves along, he becomes more human, especially when it comes to how he feels for Laurel and how he desperately wants to catch the killer!

The suspense in this story was killer. I had no idea what we were going to get at the end. I will say that Abigail Caine is pure crazy, and it will be interesting to see where she ends up in future books as well as finding out other things she has done for her narcissistic self.

Overall, a brilliant, suspenseful book with a little bit of romance thrown in. This story will definitely have you hooked from the first to the last page!

ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review. All opinions are my own. 😊
