Whistle's War: A Bad Boy Biker Romance by Monique Moreau

Whistle’s War by Monique Moreau is book six in ‘The Demon Squad’ series. This time we get Whistle’s story. We already knew he was a unique member of the MC, but now we find out why. Whistle by anyone’s standard is a hot guy, with sinful features and bouncing from prison and back to the MC. That is until he meets Tasa. Tasa is literally a Mafia princess, but she has had enough of the life which slowly seems to be sucking the very soul out of her. Given an ultimatum by the brother (who is also head of the Romanian Mafia) she decides to go out and make it on her own and ends up right on the MC’s doorstep.

This story is definitely about the relationship between Whistle and Tasa. Both of them have similar backgrounds which they have both tried to escape. I loved the new addition of the Bratva/Mafia to this MC story and the difficulties Whistle’s faces as he tries to protect Tasa but not put her in a cage.

The chemistry between the two characters was hot! Tasa is just a strong character from the get-go and it was great to be part of her journey as she grew stronger, sassier and showed Whistle that she could stand on their own two feet. This was in comparison to Whistle, where as the book progressed, we saw his vulnerabilities with Tasa and we also got to see more of his past and how that has shaped his future.

I enjoyed reading about other characters who we had seen in previous books. The banter between the men and women was great and I also enjoyed reading more about Jazz’s story and her feelings about Whistle and Tasa getting together, which was real and not sugar coated.

Overall, another great read from Ms. Moreau. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Glass Heart Hero is book 3 in the Glass Heart Academy Series by Lindsay Iler. This time it is Delaney and Breakers story, and boy is it a story! Delaney has had a lot going on in her life and although she is a survivor, it has definitely dinted her armor, to the point where she questions her relationship with Breaker, whilst starting a new one with Tripp. The difficulty is that she is on Breaker’s radar and he and the rest of the Glass Heart boys aren’t going to let her go without a fight!

If you’ve read the previous books in this series, you know there are a lot of twist and turns and a lot of truths coming to the surface (some which are pretty soul destroying) and this book is no difference. The relationship between Breaker and Delaney is heart-stopping, scorching hot and at times complicated. You’re also going to see the rest of the gang from previous books which also adds to the drama. What complicates the story is Tripp and Delaney’s feelings for him, but as the story progresses, we find that everything is not what it seems, which only adds to the secretive elements of the story.

There are a lot of emotions, angst and anger going on in this book and you just want to keep turning the pages to figure out what’s happening, both in the past, present and hopefully the future. This was such a good story and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series.

One More Time is another sweet read by Aurora Rose Reynolds and is the second book in the Ruby Falls series. The book tells the story of Tide and Aria. Aria is moving back to her hometown after her divorce. Even though she doesn’t want to be anywhere near her parents, she loves the little town that she grew up in and the house that she’s just bought…although it seems to be causing her nothing but problems. Enter, the delicious Tide, a man who’s not only going to help fix up her house, but also her heart too.

This was a sweet and quick read for me. It has two really great characters and I especially liked that even though Aria had her dream job, she was always questioning if she was doing the right thing, especially by other people. It was great to see Tide being her rock when she needed it and someone who would hold her up when she got herself down.

There was some angst in this story, not only between Tide and his ex, but also Aria and her parents. Yet it kept the pages turning as you got deeper into the story. Tide and Aria were instantly attracted to each other and it was great to read their steamy scenes as their relationship blossomed into something more. I also enjoyed that the book was about family and how some families are better than others.

Overall, another great read by Ms. Reynolds and a great addition to this new series.

Review: The Kings of Kearny - Navessa Allen

The Kings of Kearny by Navessa Allen

The Kings of Kearny is the amazing book by Navessa Allen. The book focuses on main characters Jakob and the Chief Enforcer of The Kings MC and Krista, a woman who has survived a horrific injury and is looking after her sassy grandmother. Working in a bar for The Kings wasn’t on her high list of priorities and although she thinks ‘The Viking’ is hot, she isn’t really prepared for what that means with taking him or his club on.

This story has a lot of action from the start as Krista and Jakob try and figure out what is happening at her Gran’s nursing home, while figuring out what their relationship is going to look like, whilst trying to figure out who the main players are that are causing a ruckus and problems all over the place. I loved the military background that we are given about both characters and they don’t shy away from the decisions and hardship that a military life can bring.

There are some steamy scenes between the brooding Viking and the amazingly strong Krista. Yes there is a bit of insta-love but the development of their relationship is amazing. Krista is definitely a woman who speaks her mind, regardless of what that looks like (she must take after her gran for that!). The secondary characters like Gran and other MC people really add to the overall story.

If you’re looking for a book with action, passion, amazing characters and a story that keeps on giving, then this is a book for you. I can’t wait to see if we see more books in this genre from this author as this one was a fabulous 2021 read!
